Title: More Christmas music on radio this year????
Post by: irish on December 10, 2013, 09:23:34 PM
Last year I could hardly find any Christmas music on the radio and this year there are many stations in my area playing it 24/7. Anyone else notice this???

I love it---the snow and cold make it all that much more like Christmas. Now I just need to put up the treat and buy some presents. Irish

I've noticed it too.  Normally, we have one radio station that plays non-stop Christmas from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas.  This year, we have a couple of stations doing that, and several that are doing in blocks throughout the day and evening.

We have one station that does this. They are the station that many businesses have playing, one of those soft rock/sunny/ Delilah -type stations. They started the week before Thanksgiving, which means one less radio station for me to listen to. I can't listen to Christmas music for over a month. I just can't. If I worked where it was playing all day, I'd go out of my mind.

That being said, I have CDs for my classroom. Christmas piano, guitar, jazz, Celtic Christmas, and Vince Guaraldi. And one that is like Christmas at the spa...all stress relief. No vocals on any of them.  The students love it.

Same here, Meow. I can only stand listening to it about now.
