Title: Chances of getting on Prednisone and Plaquenil?
Post by: wisconsin41 on September 06, 2013, 07:48:14 AM
Hi again,
What are the chances a rhuemy will be willing to put me on Prednisone and Plaquenil to knock a flare down that doesn't include muscle pain or fatigue?   I want to slow this thing down before it completely eats my salivary glands and tears. Also my blood work came back normal...

What blood work?
Sicca symptoms are not unique to Sjogrens, there are other medical conditions that will cause them, as well as overwhelming  fatigue, etc. Thyroid, hormones, other AI, medications.

And not all people Dx'd with Sjogrens lose salivary gland function.

"....that doesn't include muscle pain or fatigue? ".......??   That is a flare. Otherwise why would you need prednisone?

Normal blood work is where I started. I had allergic reactions to plaq and MTX. I was put on a perm dose of pred. On my last doctor visit, my pred was doubled. Check the supplements in my welcome as them may help you. The meditation once learned will be a source of continued comfort.
