Title: Vegan Christmas here we come!
Post by: Scottietottie on September 04, 2013, 06:58:18 AM
Hi  :)

Hubby and I have just booked flights to the US for Christmas. Been invited over by our son and his wife who live in MO. Can't wait to see my three year old grandson, who I usually only see via Skype.

Their family are 'Happy Herbivores' so the time spent there is going to be different!

My son is disappointed that we are not staying on into the New Year, which is very sweet of him but my youngest daughter is having her first baby this autumn and I want to see him round about New Year too.

I'll have to look out my thermal underwear I think!

Take care - Scottie  :)

You can always sneak out for  a meat fix!

Have fun!

Do they eat chocolate ????   Surely there is vegan chocolate  ;)

Hope you have a great time with your family.

How lovely, Scottie! I'm sure the food will be fine - vegan is so popular now that there are lots of options out there, and of course your son's family is used to cooking that way. Have a great time.

That's exciting. Lyndsey Nixon, the Happy Herbivore is an extremely popular cook book author. I have two of her books. And she does have recipes for dessert - including ones with chocolate.

If you don't cheat and eat what your son and DIL serve you, you will be amazed at how much better you will feel. This is a wonderful opportunity both to see your grandchild and family as well as experience a plant strong life style with little to no effort. Have a great time.

Skylar - My DIL swears by that book. She's an excellent cook and is collecting vegan recipes. Personally - I will pretty well eat anything.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes!

Take care - Scottie  :)

Especially if you don't have to cook it!

Glad that you are able to make the trip again. I hope that you don't get frozen out. I keep thinking that after this hot, dry summer we are going to be hit with a very cold and snowy winter. Irish
