hello to all.
fall is right around the corner.
it's my favorite season for so many reasons.
how many others like fall the best and why?????
I like cool weather, crunchy leaves, hearing crickets in the evening, seeing and hearing
the geese fly in formation and honk to each other.
and having lazy time...summer chores over and winters chores still a little ways off.

I agree... soups and stews. Apple's and pumpkin. Changing leaves, crisp air, cooler. Ahh yes my favorite time if year!
I agree. Fall is my favorite time of year.
Cool crisp mornings and warm afternoons, falling leaves, to me its a slowing down period.
Time to get the soup pot out, lots of yummy hearty soup.
I like sweaters :)
Oh yeah, forgot the sweaters.
I'm definately a sweater gal...
I love Fall. Football, chili, and everything else about it. Except the raking of the leaves. I do not like that part.
I wish fall lasted longer. It is usually so short. It seems we go right from summer to winter.
Cool temperatures - Please come soon!!!
Jennifer
Warm soups and stews, crisp, cool air, apples to make apple crisp, caramel apples and apple pie, pumpkins and trick or treating with the kiddos!
I love it too - though it's always a little bittersweet, knowing the loooooong, cold, dark winter is coming.
I love the way the air smells, the angle of the light, the turning leaves, the crisp mornings and evenings, hauling out the flannel and boots and sweaters, watching the horses fuzz up, roasting squash and making my awesome roast chicken that I don't make all summer because the oven makes the house too hot.
Riding in the fall is fun, too - the horses have more energy in the cool weather, but they're not as snotty and fresh as they are in the spring, because we've been riding them all summer.
I even like when dark comes a little earlier - we're so far north that in high summer the daylight lasts until 10pm. I kinda like when it's dark after dinner and we can curl up with a book or movie, all cozy in the house.
And we LOVE Halloween - always decorate like crazy and throw a huge party. It's exhausting, but now I do it as a potluck and it's less work.
If the weather doesn't go warm, cool and wet then I am ok. But those all together make is much more easy for me to pick up "stuff", like sinus infections, etc.
I like summer most of all, though not when it is real hot like now. (Eastern Iowa - 96 with 105 heat index, to stay that way all week.)
I do love Fall. Red, yellow and brown leaves turn beautiful colors.
I do not like the sinus infections & pneumonia.....I'm prone to pick up in fall & winter.
Pumpkin pie, chili, pot roast......all good reasons to turn the oven on!
Everyone has mentioned so many of the wonderful things about Fall. My favourite season.
I do love the smells...crisp air, old leaves, apple crisp baking in the oven. :)
Cooler weather, foggy mornings, the smell of fallen leaves, a bit of wood smoke in the air, gorgeous blue skies, colorful trees, great food, warm sweatshirts, football (go Vols!) and no mosquitoes!
Fall is my favorite season. Right now the calendar says that it is still summer and the heat is here full blast to remind us.
The one thing that is really Fall in the making is the Circadas or whatever your neck of the woods has that sit in the tree and sing. I love that sound--especially at night. It reminds me of years gone by when it was time to buy school clothes for the kids and get ready for school. Also the full moon at this time of the year---between summer and fall is really special. I try to take pictures of it on occasion and it is awesome to behold. Irish
Oooooooh yes!!!! The cicadas!!!! We don't have those here in the Pacific NW but I grew up with them and oh, do I love that sound on a late-summer evening....
Blazers! I always feel elegant and grown-up. Scuffing through the leaves (best if they are someone else's that I don't have to rake!)

Crisp dry air
high blue skies
crunchy leaves
the smell of fireplaces in the evening air
making stews for their warmth and nourishment
the 'rush' of all the Fall/Winter holidays piling up in a bunch..........taking us into a NEW YEAR!
(and now I'm on immune factor infusions, wondering if I'll have fewer illnesses?)
Hugs

My pink, microwave booties and the Steelers ;D

Fall use to be my favorite with walking through the woods smelling the logs, and walking over streams. Picking up walnuts to dry out. I always loved the fall clothes with sweaters, etc. Love hot soup, pinto beans/corn bread, and chili.
Today, I get sick as soon as kids are going to school again, and all the viruses start up. I fall too easy to attempt the streams. :( There doesn't seem to be any walnut trees where one can freely pick up the walnuts like when I was growing up and beyond.
I do still love the tasty foods, and I do better without all the sun beating down on me when I go out, but also suffer a bit of sadness with shorter days. I prefer the longer days.
I started to say that spring is my favorite, but I don't know that any are my favorite anymore. Each have their pros and cons for me of how I am affected.

Right now we have plums, apples, figs, filberts, blackberries, peppers, tomatoes. There's an abundance of fruits and veggies still.
It's light and warm outside, but the sun doesn't shine so intensely. My symptoms ease up a bit.
I think September is my favorite month.
Oh, I miss my blackberries from PA! They were so good!
Sharon
We had so much rain this year, our blackberries suffered :(
Every season has something about it that I love~ but fall has got to be the favorite. Sweaters and jeans with flip flops! Apples from our tree ~ the crisp air, picking the last tomatoes and peppers and putting the garden to bed for another year. pumpkins~ but mostly I celebrate another year together with my hubby~ this year will be 36, on Oct 23!
Seems like so many here love fall. It is also my favorite for the cooler temps and sleeping with a light blanket. I used to love taking my son to the local farms for apple picking and hayrides.
Thanks for triggering my favorite memories..
I love fall, love love love fall.
I love the warm sun and the cool wind, the sound of the drying leaves on the trees when the wind blows through them, and just everything. The apples, the fruits, the harvest, just everything.
SO MY FAVOURITE SEASON!
Fall is the best. Cool, clear, crisp air. Beautiful colors, apples, pumpkins, county fairs. Peaceful time of year.
