Title: Wigging it
Post by: season on August 13, 2013, 09:46:30 PM
With all the dull lifeless hair, can't do anything with it, hate the way it looks...........and on and on. I'm wondering how many of you are wearing wigs? A good many of us have thinning hair and mine never looks like it is even combed.

I have thought of buying a wig as it can be any color or any style. I can't say the same for my hair.

If you wear a wig or know someone who does, do you have any tips on buying and wearing? Are they hot? Are you afraid they will come off and embarass you? Do you try to match it to your own hair or do you pick a color that you would like it to be?

I think it is time to buy a Wig?

Would a wig make you feel more attractive and confident? Would it make you smile when you look in the mirror? Would it give you joy? Have you always wanted to be a (blond, brunette, red head, other) with (long, short, medium) hair? If the answer is "yes," go for it!

My DIL had a brain aneurism and had to have 8 different surgeries in a year and a half.  She was only 20, and her biggest struggle was not having hair.  So she bought a wig.

She did say it was hot and itchy at times and the first one she bought, was not that expensive.  It looked so fake and wouldn't stay on well.  So she bucked up and bought a more pricey one from a reputable wig shop.  This one was very nice and no one knew it wasn't her real hair it looked so natural.  It also had these sticky strips, almost like the stuff they stick stickers on credit cards with?  I don't know what you call it, it's sticky but not really?  Anyway, she never had problems with it coming off and she said it didn't itch like the first one.  The lady told her it was the other one moving around causing the itchy.

So if you do it, spend the extra money for a really nice one and then go for whatever color you want.  The lady told her that all she recommended was not straying to far away from her eyebrow color or she would have to have them died.  She had light brown eyebrows so could get away with almost anything.
