Title: Special Days in August
Post by: Cheryl on July 31, 2013, 11:06:57 AM
August is here!  Do you have a special day to celebrate in August?  If so, will you share it with us, so that we can celebrate with you?  For any of you who have an anniversary, birthday, or other special day this month, may it be a wonderful day for you!

(I'll be celebrating the beginning of a new school year next week.  I have been retired from teaching for 4 years, so the first day of school is observed with a big sigh, a bigger smile, and good wishes for all the returning teachers!)

August 1st hubby and I will be married 49 years---unless we kill each other!!!lol

I swear that chronic illness does have the potential to ruin a good marriage. We have had more disagreements in the past year than we had in the past 20 years. I know that it is from the stress of illness and all the hospital/doctor trips we make. Hard to face the fact that hubby is going downhill and he is having trouble with this also. In spite of it all we manage to apologize periodically and keep up with our daily routine.,.

I also think that driving a hubby around to medical appointments is grounds for murder. Can the poor wife even make a left turn without being corrected??? I think not!!!. There I vented and the 2 hour trip to pulmonary tomorrow will now be a breeze!!!! YOu know how it goes. Complain about something or someone and then it turns out that things are not as bad as it seems. Patience is a hard virtue to wrap your head around isn't it. Irish

Me and hubby celebrate out 15th wedding anniversary this month. I have  been a retired teacher now since 2010, and was thinking about school starting up too. Congratulations to all others having a birthday this month or celebrating a anniversary.

tamaran17,   I am so envious!!!  I would give anything to go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.  My niece got married about a month ago in Florida.  Sir Paul McCartney was in concert near my home in Memphis.  I sure must love my niece to miss seeing Paul!!!

Tamaran, have a happy 28th birthday, and enjoy your concert!

Litliwlowa, it sounds as if you may get to eat a lot of birthday cake in August!

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all those who celebrate in August!!  8) ;)

Cheryl, thanks for starting this.
Irish, your tale of driving together makes me laugh. My hubby and I celebrated 25 years this May, and we still annoy each other driving. Maybe it will never change.

If I'm driving he likes to "remind" me to pull into the intersection while turning left, telling me "to claim my intersection."  :P Our daughter found a funny card on Facebook titled "Back seat Driver's License"- we said her Dad needs one of those.

I'm sorry I'm 2 weeks late here, but hope all who have celebrated or will celebrate this month have fun!
