My wife came up from the utility room and said our Water Heater was leaking last night. I was not going to call the plumber at midnight and did not want to go down to look to see what was going on. I thought maybe the AC A coil was having trouble with Ice overflow. So I turned off the AC last night to let it defrost. This morning I went down to check things out. It was dry under the water heater and damp near the furnace. As I continued to look at the new furnace and AC, I was not able to get a look at the A coil like I could on the old furnace. I found the whole house humidifier was turned on winter. So now I turned it to summer and now have to find how to turn it off. I think that is the source of the water leak.
It is summer so turn off your humidifier.
Good reminder, Joe. With the humidity and rain we had to buy a dehumidifier to run along with the AC. Can't believe the humidity we have in MN these past summers. I hate the hight dew points.
Summer has just arrived and I am so miserable and out of sorts already that I am ready to move to the really North country---wherever that is anymore. lol Irish
Joe,
For those with a humidifier, good reminder!
The way the heat has been lately, we sure don't need more humidity in the eastern part of the US. The west would think differently, I'm sure.
Irish, I hate the high dew points, too. Even outside in the shade is too much to handle most of the time. We'll need to find out from some of our northern neighbors exactly how Far North we need to be-maybe Miss Linda in Canada?
Have a good day, ;)
