Everything has been fine up until two weeks ago. My back was hurting to the point where I couldn't even walk, stand, or sit. Within that same week I was also having pain with one of my teeth. So this passed Tuesday I went to the doctor and dentist. I'll be having an mri on my back to see if there is causing the pain, which will hopefully be this week sometime. When I went to the dentist, I found out that I need a root canal done and will be having that done this Tuesday (16th). I just ask for prayers as I am so nervous. Thanks
You have my prayers, hope all goes well for you. Sorry you are in pain. CK

Let us know how your day went - thinking about you
So sorry I am late with the prayers! But, thankfully, the root canals are not as they used to be! I have had many, many over the years! I remember one of the first ones I had was, if I remember correctly, about 6 hours long!!! Another dentist asked "What did he do, remove your appendix too?" I couldn't help but laugh. Now, it usually takes less than an hour unless there are issues, which I have endured, too. But, here's to an uncomplicated root canal!! Prayer's that there are answers to your back pain as well!! (not that I want you to have something wrong, but just answers for the pain!)
How did it go? Hope you are feeling a little better. CK
Root canal went perfectly. Back pain still unknown, will be starting therapy for that on Tuesday. Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers
So glad you didn't have any issues with the root canal! Those are pretty much a cinch any more. Keep us posted on the back issue ordeal. They are coming up with new material all the time as far as replacing the cartilage or fusing the vertebrae. Hope the therapy helps you. Didn't do squat for me. Maybe you will have better luck!! :)
My lower back is fused together, and the docs say that is congenital. will be trying a few sessions of therapy and if that doesn't work will be having an MRI.
Glad the root canal went well. Sorry about the back. Hope the therapy works! CK
Hello McKorky,
Good to hear the dental part is over and I hope the P/T helps with your back.
I would push for the MRI ...to know what is going on, and to have a point of reference if there are any changes (as you grow older..uggg)
Just another point of view...my husband has a bad back...had an MRI. The neurologist FINALLY got ahold of his report and said that he should NOT have done any PT as it could have been doing damage to his already bad injury. Not to scare you, but, I would deff get another opinion before getting deep into the PT!

I agree! The MRI comes first, then the PT! How does he know your vertebrae are fused if he has not seen an MRI report?
Xrays revealed the fusion of my lower spine. I would have already had the MRI if it wasn't for the insurance company. They will not pay for the MRI unless I go through pt first.
Have you been tested for Ankylosing Spondylitis? My doctor tested for the gene HLA B27 because of my back pain? I was negative. Even without the gene you could still have AS.
My back pain was intense and with it I had problems with TMJ, temple pain, and bottom of foot pain among many other symptoms.
I hope you find answers and feel better soon.

Glad to hear the root canal went well. I have only had one ....last year. Like you, I was terrified from horror stories I had heard. I have to say, mine was painless. One of easiest things I have had done at dentist. I do have a wonderful, gentle dentist but I still expected much worse.
Hope your MRI goes as well for you. With that, I have no experience at all.
