I went for an emergency visit today at the reumatology ward at the hospital, but it wasn't my regular doctor. A young guy who kept checking with an older doctor.
The last week I have had the worst neuropathy, jerking and pain shooting down my legs. It has been killing me...
They ended up suggesting that I try to stop Plaquenil, that I resently started. I was a bit sceptic - them not being my regular doctor, whom I am a big fan of.
But then I got home and looked at when I actually did fill in my prescription for Plaquenil. One week ago exactly... The day before this heck started.
There could be one more contributing factor - I have epilepsy also and I am also on epileptic medicine, Topamax. So maybe some weird interreaction.
So based on the timing I guess they could be right after all. But have anyone else heard of this? I can see neuropathy listed as a rare side effect, but they'll list anything on those lists....
So to hear that you are in pain! I wish I had advice for you or knew something that could help you. At least I can offer my support!

Thank you. That does mean everything. No one else really understand
Timely post. Sorry to hear your trouble! I just started plaquenil myself and had to go to the doctor because of such intense back pain and pain down my legs. Interesting....

Really? When did that start? I got the dates wrong (ofcourse...) I started Plaquenil on january 7th, and my troubles began wednesday 16th.
But.... I think I have just started to experience an increase in energy due to the plaquenil. Oh how that was good. I don't want to stop that :'(
