Well the Lyrica 75mg isn't working so doctor called in Naproxen 500mg for me to take along with the Lyrica. I guess I will see if that works out! lol. :) If not the doctor says one more thing she would try and if that didn't work she would prescribe me Hydrocodone. Don't really want to take Hydrocodone because it will make me fall out lol. Sleepy that is ha. Well I will update everyone on if this medicine works.
Have you been on the gabapentin first??? There are other meds that are used for nerve pain including some antidepressants that work well. If it was me I would want to try these meds. Hydrocodone will help, but like you say, you will fall a lot and the world might even pass you by.lol
I think that Cymbalta is one of the antidepressants that are good for nerve pain. Amitriptylene at bedtime is also good for nerve pain. My hubby couldn't exist without his gabapentim and amitriptylene for his nerve pain. See what others have to say.
There are even some other meds that work well that are not the norm. Wait and see--I hate to see people go to the drugs that are habituating too soon as it can be a battle to keep the pain under control even with them.Good luck. IRish
Gabapentin has helped here so much and from what I have read, is one of the most benign drugs of choice for nerve pain. It is mildly sedating, I take 600 mg at bedtime to control leg pain. Agree with Irish about the stronger drugs...why go there first...they can cause so many other problems down the road.

No don't even know that one. Ok yeah I would fall out! ha. ha. Yeah I have heard Cymbalta was pretty good. Thanks for the info. :)

Yeap I have heard Lyrica is addicting but not sure yet only been on it for 2 weeks. Well I have Ambien to take for my insomnia at night but didn't take it last night wanted to see if the Naproxen would make me sleepy first. Naproxen made me sleepy but I should have taken my Ambien last night. I didn't get much sleep!
Lyrica is not addicting. I have been on it for 7+ months and i sometimes forget to take it. I am not dependent on it. In my family, addiction is an issue. My brother would love to stop smoking but his addiction over runs him. Same thing with my mom although i find this odd myself it is truly an addiction- diet peach tea snapple.
The Lyrica is not addicting, it is the oxycodone that is addicting. Lyrica was first used for diabetics with neuropathy and it worked so well that they started using it for other forms of neuropathy.
Gabapentin is a drug that was first used for seizure control and they discovered that it worked well with the neuropathy. It is usually the first med ordered for neuropathy and it is much cheaper than the lyrica. Irish

Oh ok kool. I didn't want it to be so thanks for letting me know this! I can understand that as I am trying to quit smoking right now and having a really hard time doing it. Oh really thats weird never heard of somebody having that addiction. I guess you can get addicted to anything. :)
