Title: Pain in saliva glands
Post by: Cindy on January 11, 2013, 06:21:34 AM
Last night I started having submandibular and paratid gland pain. I think is a bit swollen not a lot, the pain is on both sides. This is new to me, Im just wondering if this is going to be daily pain from
now on. Im already on 2 antibiotics because of gum disease (thanks to dry mouth). I had a deep gum cleaning on Tuesday and Im wondering if the glands can get sore because of the stuff going on in my mouth. Any experiences with glands pain?

Some  experience with that. Warm compresses help.

Are you wearing your polar fleece mumps scarf to bed?

Sorry Cindy!  The pain is intermittent for me.  Maybe a few days a month they will hurt.  Sometimes they won't hurt for months at a time.  Don't worry that if you are having a new symptom that it is a permanent one.  The symptoms will come and go.  Peace and hugs!

haha Joe are you a sales person for this polar mumps scarf? I laugh every time you post about it.
I too get pain in these areas too. My pain just consists of pressure like i have swollen glands putting pressure on everything else. I don't know that these glands are actually swollen as i don't know their exact location but i do sometimes get mild swelling under my mandible behind the jaw.

If I do not use it every night, my glands become infected and swollen. If they are infected or swollen it reduces the swelling and infection. It helps keep my mouth, sinuses and eyes moist. I believe that this simple nightly act helped me reach remission. The cost is very little yet it has a very positive effect on my health. I hope that it will also help yours.

Thank you for your replies. It got worst now my checks and ears hurt too. I dont know if this is a flare because my body is aching really bad, my hands are sore, IC symptoms are back in full force and now I have burning in the ladies part. It started a few weeks ago but this weeks is x100. I thought it was dryness but is not. When Im standing is not bad at all but the minute I sit the burning is awful. My lower eyelids margins are swollen. I can consider this to be my first real sjogrens flare before I had symptom one at a time.
