Any special traditions or plans at your home for the new year?
On NY EVE we will celebrate quietly with family.
on NY Day the time honored tradition of collard greens , black-eyed peas and some type of pork must be served , so the family will gather for lunch. Napping to follow with football I am sure. LOL Resolutions...never. Quit making those years ago. haha CK
No family here anymore. But I will "pig out" on a sub, chips, potato salad and soda. LOL
Wonder if this year I will be about to stay up until midnight? ::) ;D ;D
Midnight? What's that? ;D
Dinner and movie...ribs and Barbra Streisand I think.
Pork & sauerkraut & watching the ball drop on TV from my couch or bed!
Resolution: to eat healthier and only treat myself with goodies once in a while.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We are going for a late lunch to our middle son's place. We'll be back well before midnight!
Oh, and as we got so many chocolates/cookies and wine bought for Christmas, we'll be taking a bagful for them. That will help with the healthier eating for us for the New Year.
Happy New Year to allmy Sjoggie family.

Expecting an exceedingly dull evening. Kids all left home and hubby wrapping me in cotton wool so we are not likely to go anywhere. Will have a couple of whiskies in front of the telly and then Hubby will prolly phone his family. new Year is big in Scotland. I will text the kids - at least two of whom are going to parties.
2013 is a step into the unknown. I will need to job hunt but not till my arm is fixed - and it still isn't. Brace not due to come off till the end of February now.
Meant to post on the 'positive' thread but breaking my arm and losing my job just weren't positive things. I guess I could have posted that the arm break put SjS right to the back of my mind!!
Sincerely wishing everyone all the best for 2013. Happy Hogmanay!
Scottie :)
We stay home and eat well, toast with sparkling cider, and are usually asleep by 10:30....wake up briefly at midnight when the neighborhood sets off fireworks so we can comfort the poor, frightened dog...then right back to sleep. :)
We used to go to a friend's party on the water to watch the big fireworks display, but I was always asleep on my feet (or the couch) by the time the big moment came.... ::)
Invited to go bowling with son and wife, hoping we can stay awake that late....LOL
We're staying in tonight - we're "homebodies" and prefer staying in rather than going out.
We've had a light snow this afternoon and the roads were a little bit slippery when I came in from work - so, that also confirms my "we're not going anywhere" for tonight. ;)
Last week I bought myself a Wii with some Christmas money - so, maybe we'll hook that up tonight and play with it as a family. :D
Tomorrow, as with every day thereafter, is a clean slate - brand new day, never experienced before and will never be experienced again. May each of us make the most of each day we are given and not waste it on worrying "what if" . . . .
Happy New Year to each of you . . . may the new year be filled with many, many blessings for us all.

I hope you heal properly, and that your job hunt goes perfectly.
Hugs, Sharon
Actually celebrated the New Year, first time in 3 years, just at 7:00. Bowling alley an hour away had a family new year party from 5:00-7:00 with cosmic bowling, free appetizers, noise makers and hats, and at 7:00 bottles of sparkling cider in champagne glasses and then the countdown and such.
I took my son and his friend and met a friend of mine there that I never see. After bowling, onto Olive Garden and then home by 10:00, bed by 11:30. All in all pretty good celebration, but now I'm up in middle of night with leg pain and cramps.
Happy New Year Everyone!
