As many of you are aware that l have been waiting since July this year to find out exactly what my diagnosis and stage of relapsed Maltoma is. After many blood tests, biopsies, two pet scans and two CT scans l was told today that l have stage IV Maltoma. I have it in my lacrimal gland, roof palette of my mouth and also there were some small nodes on my neck that showed some uptake in the pet scan. Radiation was mentioned but my Doctor thought that the chances of it relapsing within two or more years was high. So the choice of treatment my doctor suggested was Mab Thera and Chlorambucil tablets, l will take the tablets for five days and have the Mab Thera and this will be once a month and then followed by maintenance Mab Thera every three months for two years. He hopes that l will get a good remission from this and even said that l could have this treatment again, if or when it relapsed. GREAT!!
I have very mixed emotions now that l know what l am dealing with, l was glad that at least my Maltoma did not show any transformations to high grade. I pray that God will get me through this and take me into remission.
