Title: at the eye hospital again
Post by: gem.j on November 16, 2012, 04:58:18 AM
I am here again for the 6th time in 3 weeks. It started with dry eyes and it is getting redder by the day, intact its kind of yellow too :-S I've already been fobbed off with blepharitis which they have now decided I don't have, my eyes are getting more and more sore even with all the drops they have given me. I feel like they are not listening, I don't have a dx for sjogrens but I don't have lupus. Tell me do aqueous tear deficiencies just jump out if nowhere? Unless there is something else.

I' had a problem with my eye just this past week, the stuff I was given at first didn't help, some antibiotic that is like the generic go to for med xpress, I went and saw the dr on call for my regular eye dr, he gave me tobradex st.  Afyer 2nd time using I felt the difference.  Its a lil bit pricey, 34 with insurance but well worth it.  He told me not to throw away though that I may be prone to this and in the future it would save me money.  He also said that its not for every eye infection problem though, some it can make worse.  Hope this helps.

XOXOXO

Once again, I recommend you call an optometrist.  They will probably fit you in asap.  Emergency room doctors are not eye specialists.  The eyes can be a real sensitive and delicate area.

Thank Gem...our hospitals in the US are about 4 or more city blocks in size.
The only hospitals that specialize are childrens', cancer, teaching (off the top of my head).

So do you see the same Dr. each time? Sounds like a waste of time where you are going and just added stress.
Can you find an Ophthalmologist for an appt? Did you try going to the Pharamacy for gel eye drops.. they really are soothing. in the meantime a warm tea bag compress on each eye will help..not hot.

I'm not sure where in the US you are, QD, but this is a list of recommended eye hospitals in the US:
