hey folks,
I've been really hoping that they'd increase the "safe" amount that we can take Restasis as it really helps me. I take it one drop 2 times a day, but I'd love to take it more. In an effort to see if this is possible and if they are doing studies on this, I started researching and found several articles about Restasis and lymphoma (not sure if that is spelled correctly). Anyone heard of this?? None of my doctors warned of this....
Hi Gardenlover:
I haven't heard if there is a connection between restasis and NHL of the eye myself, but I just saw my opthamologist 2 weeks ago and he told me to increase the amount of restasis I was using daily to at least 3 times. I currently have NHL but not of the eye and had it before I started using restasis so it wasn't a factor for me.
I would suggest that you call your prescribing dr for restasis and just ask if you can increase the dose to 3 times daily in your case. They might just tell you that over the phone without you having to book an appt and pay out some bucks.

I had heard that the company making Restasis was coming out with another Restasis that is stronger. In other words, there will be 2 strengths that the doctor has to choose from. Might want to ask your eye doc about that. Irish
This is exciting news!! I hope they do have a stronger one or one that I can take more often. I think the cancer may have been only in rats thus far. Just hoping someone has heard something on this. Thanks ya'll.
I wonder if the common link between Restasis and lymphoma is Sjogrens. Sjogrens patients would make up a big part of all Restasis users, and we are also more likely to get lymphomas. I do want to hear more about the research, though. (As for me, my lymphoma occurred years before I started using Restasis.)
