These are good suggestions and well offered insight for folks. Odd thing is, chronically ill people are probably the only ones who would be tempted to read it.

I would consider forwarding it to family and friends, but I am certain they would resent it and/or roll their eyes.

At the very least, we'll know what to say to each other! HA!

Don't you wish everyone had this insight?

Even more odd - now that I have this diagnosis, I'm tyring even harder not to look sick or show any weaknesses at work. I'm fighting like mad to keep up and deny this disease my livelyhood.

I emailed the "Spoon Theory" to my immediate family to explain how I feel. I know when we look well on the outside its hard for others to believe us. Some read it and some did not. My husband lives with me so he knows and shares with our adult children what our reality is. I have taken articles to a pain management doctor. The doctors PA who saw me all the time rolled her eyes and dropped it in trash. I got up and walked out of appointment and told nurse to please reschedule me with the actual doctor.
