Title: Had a question??
Post by: grace on September 17, 2012, 06:20:46 AM
Hi everyone,
Haven't been on for awhile, but still keeping up on posts.  I think I have been trying to adjust to my new life  :) I am getting there. Been on med for about six months now and it is actually helping my joint pain in my knees and hands and it's helping my fatigue. It's not helping my rash on my face and chest, but hoping in time it will.

I have a question, does anyone have palmer erythmea on their hands? I don't know how concerned I should be? I have had this for awhile, but got no answers from my rheumy.

I actually got through the summer without any bad sunburns, had to get used to wearing hats  :) and using lots of suntan lotions. never thought I would buy as many hats as I did  :D

I only know two people who complained about that, and both later learned they had cutaneous lupus (also called skin lupus).

So glad you've gotten through the summer!  You should start a thread about all your hats!  :)

Hi Grace!
Welcome to Sjogrensworld!  I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the problem you are having with your hands. I'm sure that others will help you out with that, as A66eyroad has done.

I definitely relate to the hat wearing, though!  It helps my eyes as well as protecting my skin.  Flat hair is part of my summer look.

Best wishes in dealing with your symptoms,
Cheryl

It is associated with various physiological as well as pathological changes, or may be a normal finding.

This one has sooo many causes.  It is kind of a side effect of something else going on such as:
Portal hypertension
Chronic liver disease, (including chronic hepatitis[2])
Pregnancy
Polycythemia
Thyrotoxicosis
Rheumatoid Arthritis(especially in patients with polycythaemia)[3]
Eczema and Psoriasis
Deep telangiectasias
Coxsackievirus A infection (Hand, foot and mouth disease)[4]
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever[5]
Secondary Syphilis[6]

Surprised not to see SjS there, lol.  Good luck getting answers on that one  ::)
