Hello out there in SW,
Just turned to On Demand and saw Ab Fab on BBCA... cannot even think about trivial things with their silliness and did not realize the young girl is now on Larkrise to Candelford.
I tend to like mysteries and Brit Comedies ;)
Annnnnnnnnnnnd you?
Cheers,
P.
The news...which of late has become more ridiculous and horrific all at the same time. So nowadays, I would say it is more of a "show" than objective reports of the goings on. Even the weather is embellished and any event is exaggerated to sell commercials.
Other than that, anything with Hugh Jackman in it. ;D
Hello Iraisin,
Oh I adore Hugh Jackman he is so handsome, funny and talented!
I agree the news and teh weather are so embellished I'd rather watch things that are well-written ;))
Cheers,
Peony
I watch lots of forensic, detective, history, documentary shows ID channel shows because I find life so interesting. We like listening to books here a lot (my hubby lost his sight at 50, but that's another story). He has a flash drive reader that they supply for free and access to thousands of books. They also can mail them to you. All of this is postage free and supplied by Cleveland Library for the Blind! Its been a lifesaver for him. I can download them from the computer for him onto a flash drive. They only play in the player. He is such a softy he loves listening to stories from the 1800's. He was never a reader before and now it is hard to get him away from them if he is listening to one with headphones that I am not interested in or have already read! Too funny!
I swear I live in a bubble, when I check the news it is all so depressing I just shut it off. We have had no cable, dish, etc for 2 years and do not miss it. We watch shows we choose and when we choose from a computer/internet hooked up to our flatscreen tv. There is so much hype on tv anymore, and things that just are absurd!
Endorphins are the best medicine...laugh when you can!
What ever brings laughter to me.
As I am from Germany I am certainly not up to date on overseas TV shows. But I love "Married with children", though it?s very old of course. Also I like COPS! :P
I watch two episodes of M*A*S*H every weekday ---- it comes on (and they're in order!) from 7 to 8 p.m. during the week, and I look forward to it every day, even though I've seen every episode so often that I can practically lip sync every word.
I also love "The Middle" and "Modern Family" (which, as you know, stars the husband from Married... With Children").
I loved Ab Fab!! I didn't know it was back on again.
I like "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." And "King of Queens" which I never saw when it was in the prime-time lineup.
Also, "Big Bang Theory" has grown on me, Big Time!
Never get tired of "Mash"!!
My biggest guilty pleasure is watching "World's Dumbest." It's gratifying to know that someone out there is dumber than I am. It Just Is.
I watch a ton of reality shows.... but, not the news. The news is too real.
Anyone watch Big Brother or Survivor?
Pie- guilty on both of those.
My favorite reality show is "My Cat from heck". It's on Animal Planet at 8:00pm (EST). Yesterday they had back to back episodes from 10:00am and ending at 9:00pm. I did not know until the late afternoon but I had my tv on until it ended.
It's about a man named Jackson Galaxy who is a cat behaviorist (aka cat doctor). He worked in animal shelters for a long time. He carries guitar case filled with cat treats, toys, etc. when he visits peoples homes in CA and further. He diagnoses what the problems are and gives families "homework" to improve the situation.
You may check out his show on the Animal Planet webpage. I have a couple of other shows I like but this is my top one at the moment.
P.S. I'm not at all guilty ;D and its a pleasure to watch his show.
I seen that show 'the cat from h e double hockey sticks ' hehe.... Yes reality shows are the news, and toooo much reality.
I have to admit to - say yes to the dress - snapped - pickers - and totally hooked on later at night 'the big valley' :-[ I know it's sad. ;D
susanep :)
Hi All,
I'm watching Hogan's Heroes right now. It's been so long since I've seen them, it's like their new again. Get Smart is another oldie I try to catch.
Hubby and I love Big Bang, I think it's our favorite. Also watch According to Jim, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and How I Met Your Mother.
Really enjoy the USA Channel: Suits, Covert Affairs, Royal Pains, White Collar, NCIS and NCIS LA.
Chomping at the bit for season premiers of Revenge, The Killing and Justified. Oh that Timothy Olyphant: Mm...Mm...Mmm!!
AB Fab is one of my all time faves. My son has just got me into The Big Bang Theory. Its hilarious.
"Two broke girls", "Big Bang" close to home if I wasn't married, "Mike & Molly", "The Munsters" looks interesting. Other shows when they go into reruns and are not against the shows that I record.
It took me a few minutes to realize what Ab Fab was. I thought it was an exercise show at first! ;D
I like watching Yes, Dear.
I love anything that's a "period drama" - Jane Austin movie adaptations, "The Tudors", "Upstairs Downstairs", "Downton Abbey", "heck on Wheels", "Boardwalk Empire", etc....
My daughter is a huge "Dr. Who" fan, so we watch that together on the weekend - it's fun. For comedy, I think "New Girl" is cute and funny. We don't really watch any sitcoms regularly....I guess I am more into the historical stuff as a general rule - I like being transported to another time and place.
I also love documentaries on nature, animals, science - stuff like "Nature" and "Nova" and "Through the Wormhole".
We don't watch a ton of TV, but we have the DVR set up to record the stuff we like, and watch an hour or so a few times a week.
Oh, and my husband LOVES all the superhero movies, LOL - so of course we see all of those! And when it's baseball season we watch the Mariners! ;D
I watch House Hunters on cable when I can.
The women especially are soooo picky. I am surprised the show doesn't instigate a lot more divorces. They want all this stuff in a high priced area and have a very very unrealistic idea of what it costs!!!
I did my homework before I bought my present home and knew how much money bought how much house.
I also like the court tv shows. Gosh I didn't know there were so many dumb people when it comes to money.
I love "Hart of Dixie," "NCIS," "Revolution," "Last Resort," "The Waltons," "Little House on the Prairie," and of course, "American Idol"
As an engineer, a certain appreciation for the cult comedies of a more obscure vintage are a requirement.
Staples include:
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Office Space
The Big Lebowski
The Three Stooges
Rainman
Abbot and Costello
Basically it has to be >10 years old, and not exactly appreciated for its finer details when it came out. Not sure why we are like this, but honestly the majority of us share the same taste in comedies.
Everybody loves Raymond and Roseanne reruns - ;)
Winnie :)
My silly shows are- Bayou Billionaires ; Redneck Vacation and the gypsy wedding shows.
Regular watcher of some reality stuff on HGTV;Gold Rush; Amazing Race; Survivor ; Project Runway; some stuff on TLC and NASCAR; all televised Oregon Duck games in my area.
Love movies too- new and old- historical or biographical; action/adventure( Indiana Jones; Pirates of .....; the ones about the Jack Ryan character (Hunt for Red October etc.); some animated funny ones like Ice Age; mysteries ; comedies like Somethings Gotta Give
I love Ab Fab
Keep up Appearances
my husband loves Two and a Half Men, which is so silly, but so hysterically funny when you're in the right mood.
Anything BBC Masterpiece if I remember to tune in.
Ahh, he's just tuning in to Two and a Half Men.
lol
Elaine
Tonight is is the original "Pink Panther"
My new favorite silly show is called "Monsters Inside Me" on Animal Planet. I was sick on Friday night and stayed in bed and watched two hours of this wonderful show! I am obsessed with medical oddities and diseases. I have read every book on the worldwide HIV epidemic and the influenza epidemic of the last century.
This show featured a young women who caught a mycobacterium infection from her fish tank, a guy who inhaled a pop can tab, which was stuck in his trachea for two years, and other rare conditions and diseases. It made my day!
