Title: painful bulges in legs - anyone else?
Post by: Diane63 on July 20, 2012, 06:53:08 AM
I have fibro/sjs so sometimes don't know what's what.  I've been getting bulges/knots in my legs - muscles? tendons? don't know.  They stay for 2-3 weeks then seem to get better.  Not veins, I know that.  They look like swollen places.  Anybody else? :-\

are they round and extruding? What size? Or are they over a larger area like an injured muscle?

One place is on the back/slightly outside of my rt leg, maybe half a golf ball size sticking out.  The whole tendon/muscle whatever is very tender to the touch, but that spot is particularly ouchy.  Similar thing on lft leg just below knee and slightly toward inside.  Duh...

Thanks.  I read the article, but I don't think that's what's going on with me.  Mine do hurt and if you touch them and apply pressure - wowee zowee!  Guess I'll tell the rheumy when I go in a couple of weeks and see what she has to say.  Really appreciate your help.  I'm learning so much on this site. :)

Well... If they are shaped like that and hurt that bad when you touch them, they could be a absess, maybe from shaving or something...don't know.

So I don't think I would wait that long, you may want to go to a family practitioner and do an office visit w/them - or at least go to your local pharmacy and show them...see what they say.

good luck. Let us know what it is so we have more knowledged gained.

take care,
raisin

Thanks, iraisin. Did see my doc, regular PCP, and we think they are from fibro/Sjogren's, not abcess thank goodness.  The weather here has been really crazy, and I have noticed before that when the barometric pressure changes drastically I hurt more.  Today I could hardly get out of bed.  I'll talk to my rheumy and see what she says.  I appreciate all your input.  Later!

WoW! Why don't they post symptoms like that so we don't go whirly minded trying to figure this stuff out?

I'm glad you got some answers. I hope they have something or some advice to help it subside.

The barometric pressure affects me immensely. Far too much for my comfort. I'm feelin' ya.
