Title: recommendations for a good anti inflammatory book?
Post by: valene2009 on July 18, 2012, 01:44:48 PM
ii bought the book "the inflammation free diet plan".. well i think i will be returning it to walmart..it is full of contradictions... and it lists the Inflammatory repsonses of food and even lists farm raised salmon as having a better anti inflammatory response compared to wild caught and lists splenda as an anti inflammatory...

can anyone recommend a good book other than this????

Over the years I have purchased many books that promise freedom from pain. Red meat has been linked to inflammation. (I like mine bloody) Boswelia and UCII have been proven in double blind studies to repair damage from Arthritis. For centuries, Dark Cherries have been used to help with pain for gout. Nsaids have been used for a long time also. Carrot juice is what our bodies use to make endorphins.

I use reflexology, Reiki, and meditation to help me deal with pain.

Joe, You should write a book.  Your recommendation have helped me like no other.

Black Cherry Extract = No gout pain for me (Seems to be under control with the recent labs)
Tumeric- I am taking for anti-inflammatory that seems to be helping.

I have the bulk of an Alternative therapy book written (572 pages). I am waiting for it to be edited. It is missing a number of therapies that I would like to include but it takes so much time to learn and then write for other to read. The typing over whelms my fingers. I have to constantly cross check my material to verify that I got it correct.

thanks for the recommendations..... just going to try and eat as healthy as i can-the less processed the better. of course i say that after my treat of icecream today.but o well. we gotta live..

Joe, tell us when it's published! I'll buy two!

The Anti-Inflammation Diet and Recipe Book by Jessica K. Black. you can buy it thru amazon used via the sjogren's link offered in the moderator's section on page 1 of this forum.

Not sure if it's the same book as valeene posted, but I felt it described a lot of what happens in your body and has some recipes in it to get you started. I have mine out on loan and someone else waiting to borrow it. I don't know if I'll ever get it back.
