It started last weekend. The heat took my strength. Then the storms rolled in and everything in me hurt. Then my stomach. Oh! I have moments when I just can't bear it, I get exhausted, lay down, and it all starts all over again when I get up.
I haven't taken any meds today, not even my plaquenil. I haven't eaten a bit of food.
I was able to get my gastro appt. moved from the 19th to tomorrow. The storm has blown over for the day, feeling a bit better. My son brought over some pedialite, so I'm drinking that (don't want anything heavy on my stomach).
I feel I'm on the verge of vomiting all the time. My arms hurt at the elbows and my fingers are tingling. My feet are ice. I'm shaky, probably from not eating, but I just can't do it.
I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad. I am praying you get some rest and relief. The pedialite is a good idea.
Hope the gastro can help you.
Sue
Iraisin,
Mention the possiblity of gastroparesis to your gastro. You mentioned you feel like vomiting all the time. Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and early fullness are symptoms. I was treated quite awhile before it was found I had gastroparesis. There are a number of us who have it.
Good Luck.
Anna
What is the treatment for that? how do you take your meds when it gets like this?
Keep your fluids up if you can.
Glad you got in to see the dr earlier.
Sorry honey, I can sympathise really, keep fluids down though at least like Piebird said.
Gastro doc is taking me off prevacid and putting me on Dexilant - evidently it's stronger and he says it should help. He has me scheduled for an upper GI scope end of August - then if that doesn't show an ulcer he wants to test for gastroparesis.
I'm just really tired of this. ready to feel better.
Well at least he's trying to get to the bottom of it, really hope you get to feel better soon.
Iraisin,
If it is found you have gastroparesis instead of ulcer, you can be treated with a medicine called Domperidone. The Cleveland Clinic prescribes this for me. It helps to empty your stomach and is taken 30 minutes before each meal and at bedtime. I, also, take Dexilant and for me it worked the best of ALL PPI's and yes I tried all of them.
Hope Dexilant works and it is not gastroparesis. It is really not fun to have at all.
Anna
I did some research on it last night. I don't want that. I'm sorry that you have that. I'm already a vegan and the diet they recommend for that would leave me with basically no protein sources at all.
I had one slice of whole wheat bread yesterday ( the squished bun-like, thin sandwhich bread) and today I had an avacado. I'm drinking the pediolite, but it's so rich for me, I don't like it.
I asked him what I should do in the meantime. He said to eat really slow.
Glad to hear this new stuff has made a difference. I'll start it tonight before I try to eat.
So, tonight, I'm going to try eating some Jasmine rice, really slow, and see how I do. If I can stand it, I'll try and add some lentils.
Sorry to hear your feeling bad. I don't know anything about gastroparesis but it does sound awful. I hope things turn around for you soon.
In the meanwhile you have something I need.......you have a storm....please send it my way as it helps my eyes and skin.
take care..drink your pedialite.

God bless you. i am so sorry you have been suffering so...
big gentle hugs to you
i offer you empathy.. this heat gets to me too.. i feel so sick to my stomach.. i hope ur doing better... hang in there...:)
How are you doing on the Dexilant. They switched me from Nexium to Dexilant an while back and it has made a tremendous difference in the acid reflux I have.
He switched me primarily for The Barrett's Esphoagus but my reflux has improved greatly too.
of Course with the drain tube removal from the lung biopsy I can't tell if I have indgestion, eshopagus pain, need to pass gas or am having a heart attack....lol
You absolutely have to eat..little nibbles...over and over...small tiny bites of a meal. You need to stay hydrated. I would go with some room temp water or even it slighty heated. Any time you consume the temp change it makes your body do stuff. So as still as you may sit, If you drink cold water, at the first sip your body goes to work,
Hope you are already feeling some relief by the time this is written ~sass~
I just started the Dexilant last night. I was able to eat some and slept through the night. I think the extra food after barely eating for 3 days and the weakness from that knocked me out completely.
I'm up this morning and the cramping is barely noticeable. I hope this keeps up. I still don't WANT to eat, the thought of it is still a bit upsetting. I guess the pain and nausea was just so tuff I am having a hard time thinking of going through that again.
I'm not sure what to try and eat for breakfast. I'll probably split an avocado and nibble on that for a while and just ride this wave until it breaks and rest on the beach when it does.
Thanks for y'alls love. I can't imagine going through this without you support. I appreciate you all very much.
glad u ate and got some sleep..keep it up... so u get stronger. hang in there.....:) things will get better.
