Title: Party
Post by: ashewoman on June 26, 2012, 06:44:46 AM
I must have lost my dang mind.  I don't know what I was thinking.  Probably just forgot that I am not as much fun as I used to be.   ;)  I am throwing a party tomorrow night on my back patio in the midst of the ghetto fabulous garden... and I had a rough weekend and last night.

OMG... what to do?  And they came and totally tore my kitchen up doing those repairs yesterday.  So I had to do a massive sweep of the little fibers which fell out of my ceiling and on everything.  It was like dust only stickier.  I can't just cancel but I don't feel well enough to get this house sparkling.

So the moral of the story is I'm going to pretty much leave it as it is.  They all know I'm not well and if I thought they weren't okay with that I wouldn't have invited them to the party.  So I'm not going to kill myself to impress people.  I cleaned up the disgustingness left in my kitchen repair aftermath.  But forget the rest of it.  This is why people used to have 8 kids.... you could put them to work.  But all I have is a dog and a cat and neither of them have posable thumbs so they are pretty much useless in this.

It's just clutter... and I don't recall ever loving someone for their incredible neatness.   ;D  The trick is loving myself even though I have overextended myself and realizing I do have people who love me and that they will understand.

If I rush around in this shape trying to do what I am not capable of doing or trying to live up to some impossible standard then I'll be in so much pain by 7pm tomorrow that I will be in bed while the party is going on outside.  Don't want that to happen.  What's the point of spending money and investing hard labor into an event that you miss?  No advantage to that.  So that's my plan for now.  Rest and try not to stress over the mess.  <3 <3 <3 those hearts are for yall and for me (because I need them too).  GG

Hi Ashewoman!

Perfect attitude! Those that care won't care and those who do care, don't invite again! Love it! You will have a good time, don't worry. The garden will charm them all! Have fun, get some rest so you are ready!
Hugs and hearts for you!

I am right there with you!  We are having a 4th of July party and I vowed not to over do it before the party.  I am "smart" cleaning.  Do what is necessary and hide the rest!! I am having a good streak and my fatigue is gone, so I am getting more done than usual.   Have a good time at your party!

Winnie  :)

If I go to a party and the host's house is not immaculate, I just feel more comfortable and like I'm at home.    Hope it's a great party!!!!

Flylady says to clean fast for company by shoving everything in drawers and cabinets  ;).  Just have to remember to get it all out after they leave!  I like to throw everything that doesn't belong there into bags and hide them in my closet  :-X.  No one's gonna go into my bedroom and snoop through my closet :o

My mother in law was very fond of saying "if they don't feel comfortable in my messy house, then they can get the %$#* out of it!"  Yeah, she had a way with words  ;).  She had a point though!

Don't stress and have a great party!

Oh and I forgot to say... I realized last night that having a cat and a dog is like having four children running around the house because you have the same number of feet.  Of course children rarely shed or shread, but they are generally mouthier.  Still I bet the cat could give even the most talkative toddler a run for it's money with the mouth he's got on him.  Mew Mew Mew Mew Mew... or should it be Me Me Me Me Me Me I feel like that's what he's saying even if its not.  LMAO! GG
