Title: Sore muscles
Post by: vtmommy on May 29, 2012, 05:07:41 AM
I've noticed ever since my dryness symptoms started, if I do something physical that I don't normally do, my muscles are sore for days after.

I planted my garden on Sunday and my whole body has been aching since Monday.  I know it was a lot of bending, but it just seems a little ridiculous.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes, I too have achy muscles. It has practically become an everyday event. Even simple chores around the house can cause sore and aching muscles the next day. I also cannot stand for long periods because my feet start to ache. I don't know what to do for it other than sit down for a while and then my hip will start to hurt. Sometimes I feel like I am one big PAIN!!!!

I never realized how much pain I was in all the time until I went on Prednisone and it went away....holy cow, I felt like crap ALL THE TIME!!!! Now I have to taper off the prednisone, and I expect I will feel 100 years old again....*sigh*.

It came on slowly - over several years - so I guess it just became "normal" for me. Wish it weren't!!!!

Yep, I have frequent muscle aches too, especially in my legs. My rheumatologist is convinced I have fibromyalgia as well. I don't doubt him but I don't think this muscle pain is fibro related because I thought fibro pain was usually in the neck and back...? Sometimes my legs hurt to the touch - they are that sore, and for no apparent reason other than my knees pretty much always hurt - sometimes bearable, sometimes not.  :-\

Yes I have a sexy new perfume scent... it's call eau de bengay.  Everywhere I go its pungent aroma wakes people up.  :)  I find the best thing to do for muscle soreness is take a super hot scalding shower, slather with my sexy bengay, and stretch out in front of the boob tube with the a/c blowing directly on me.  It really fires up the vapor action.  Sometimes I swear my hiney parts cramp because I tend to clinch them when I am the least bit anxious and then I feel like I hiked 20 miles with a 60 pound pack up a mountain.  But it doesn't take a whole lot of clinching to hurt my muscles.  I've stopped watching most mystery tv shows and I really like them.  But sitting on edge waiting to see who-dun-it just makes my neck and shoulders ache like I lifted weights.  My step mother is 20 years older than me and she's lifting weights for health and I feel older because I know if I actually did something like that I'd be in bed for a week from it.  I'm not sure what you are supposed to do when you have this much pain but I don't do extra... only what I need to do to get by.  Extra is just too much.  I don't want to do less than what I need done but I can't do more.  Not if I want to do anything the next day and the day after that.  GG

Te-he...ya, I identify.  FYI, you might want to try Myoflex---it is odorless and greaseless and a great, very effective over-the-counter analgesic cream.

Yeah someone told me the other day, "Come stand by me... I have a sinus cold." :)  Let me be your vapor rub... I don't mind.  HA HA!

my arms are the worst. I feel often like I have carried  40 pound weights in each hand all day.

I have been a long distance runner/ hiker since my teens so I imagine because this is already a fit area I am not feeling it there as intensely. Despite 22 years of weight lifting ( and four babies i wore everywhere) I have never been able to manage much in the way of upper body strength and it shows now.
