I should be leaving transitional care on May 31. I am working with crutches. Our house is not Handicap Assessable. The AC is out at home so I will be using all the fans to stay cool.
When I saw the doctor, he said that I was very lucky because my bones were growing back together. He said that most breaks this bad selcom heal. I have two more months of recovery at home.
Dear Joe,
We all have been thinking about you and I have been praying for you to be able to recover from this latest serious health challenge.
Please know that many on this board care about what happens to you very much and we are sending you positive thoughts very often.

I'm so glad you are doing better, Joe.. I hope you get your a/c working again too.. It is so uncomfortable without it..
All the best Joe!
Joe,
Good news that you will get to go home in a few days. ;D
I hope the AC at home is fixed soon so that it will be more comfortable for you as you continue your rehab in the comforts of your own home.
Don't overdo things and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Bucky
Glad to hear you are going home soon Joe...I always think you do better at home in your own environment...your own bed, etc.
Keep us posted on how you are doing....hope you get that AC fixed soon....the summer is upon us and its going to be a hot one I fear! ;)
I am glad you get to be back home. I always preferred being home, but sometimes we need the other help.
I do hope you get the air conditioning fixed, because it is so hot. Ours went out one day, but we were able to get it fixed for a cheap price, because he is a family member.
Everyone has missed all of your posts. Get better soon. I said a prayer for you.
susanep :)
Joe, It is so good to hear that you will be coming home. I wish that you could find someone that you know who could come in and check out the airconditioning. Sounds like it is going to be a hot summer again.
Try wetting a wash cloth with cold water and fold it the long way. Place it around the back of your neck. It really helps to cool the brain off and when the brain is cool your body feels cooler. Turn the cloth over when it gets warm and also rewet it every so often. Good luck with your leg now. This has been a very eventful( I used a nice word lol) year for you and your wife. Irish
Thank you for all of your kind words.
Joe
Glad to hear you are on the mend! Nice to see your name on the boards.
Keeping you in my thoughts!
Yea! Glad to hear things are improving! We've missed you here & I bet Jan glad you are coming home soon too!
Hi Joe. I've really been worried about you. So glad to hear that the bones are healing nicely. Please take care and I hope you can stay cool.
I was looking the other day at some new air conditioners. I didn't know that these existed. You sit them out in your room that you want cooled. They don't fit in a window. I would like to give them a try.
Sending healing energy your way. Take care. Season
Glad to hear it!
My gramma broke her leg and there is so much pain walking on it that she is in a wheelchair most of the time. I have no doubt hers did not heal.
Keep on getting better.
Jackie
That is fantastic news, Joe!
GREAT NEWS JOE.
Keep plugging away and you'll get to your destination.
There seems to be an endless supply of new folks showing up on here with their SJS and they need your insight and your special welcoming that you give.

Joe,
I'm glad to hear you're improving all the time! We've missed you around here. ;)
As Lucy said, we have a lot of new folks, and we try to welcome each person right away; however I don't think any of us are as timely as you are about it.
Take care, and keep on keepin' on!
You are home by now! Hope you are doing ok with the transition, and can enjoy your well-earned time at home!
