Title: Did you know...?
Post by: mshistory on May 10, 2012, 04:20:50 AM
DYK (did you know?)!! It's a fun and silly way to get to know each other a little better and to share things you've learned this week (non-SjS related!)  ;D

DYK pasta made from quinoa and corn starch is surprisingly good?

DYK pasta made from rice starch is NOT?

DYK I always forget to check out this social forum so I miss out on all the fun posts? (Going to work on that!)

DYK if you start playing this game, you will find yourself starting sentences with "did you know" all the time?

DYK that butterflies taste with their feet?

DYK that dolphins only sleep with half their brain at a time.  That's why they always sleep with one eye open.

DYK that Dog nose prints are as unique as human finger prints and can be used to identify them.

DYK that the names of Popeye's 4 nephews are:  Pipeye, Peepeye, Pupeye, and Poopeye!

and the last DYK from me is:

DYK that an autoantibody to the protein SS-A/Ro, found in women with Sjogren's syndrome, can very rarely be associated with congenital heart block and neonatal lupus in newborn babies. If you have Sjogren's syndrome and plan to become pregnant, see your doctor about testing for this marker and also for deciding what to do if the marker is present.

DYK I'd never heard of this and do think it's kind of cool.
