We have had so little moisture in the mid MN and south central MN since last early fall. It has now rained a little this past week and we have had a lot of storm warnings, hail, and tornado watches and warnings in this state the past week.
It has rained off and on in our area but still not a lot. This evening it has rained a lot. One of those straight down fairly heavy rains that smells so good with some thunder and lightening. It has been so long since we have had this type of rain and it is awesome.
I just remembered that the last time we had any amount of rain (a few years ago) we had to much that the farm tile that crosses our back acreage backed up and our whole back yard was full of water. It came within about 5 feet of the house and was a big concern. We could have used a canoe or kayak about that time.
Anybody else had these nice rains???? Irish
Yep - we've had rain off and on all week. It rained pretty hard last night along with the flashing lightning and booming thunder. I think the areas North of me are suppose to get more of the heavy rain tonight.
In a way . . . we're hoping for rain tomorrow early afternoon so we can leave the tennis match early. ;)

Hey Irish
This past week we had very loud hard rains on two different nights. I love the night time thunder storms, I consider it great sleeping time. ZZZZZZZZZ
Coming home this evening on our motorcycles, my husband and I drove through a small shower.
We in the Arkansas Ozarks are having great weather.

We've had thunder and lightening but it only sprinkled. There wasn't even a drop in the birdbath the next afternoon.
It rained again all afternoon. Water is standing in a lot of places. I suppose now we will complain because we are getting too much. We humans are never satisfied.
Actually, we have a friend who digs graves and he says that this winter the water level was the lowest he has seen in quite a few years. We hardly had any rain last fall and hardly any snow this winter.
This rain is a blessing. Farmers may have some crops get drowned out, but without this rain they may not have had a crop at all. Irish
Here in the south, we are in a drought. The grass is crunchy and it is hot, hot, hot.
