Title: Can I get back to my normal Sjogren's? Please?
Post by: jmkboyer on April 12, 2012, 09:24:42 PM
Hi all--

So the last month has been heck.  My dad was diagnosed with brain cancer on March 7th and he died last week on April 5th.  He was the first parent to go for my husband and I so trying to negotiate the grief/annoyance/anger/ridiculousness of the situation has been, um, not easy.  I held on for dear life while living in a hotel for a week with my 3 kiddos ("We want to swim! NOW!"  and "Do we have to go back to the funeral home AGAIN?"  Good times.)  Now, I'm crashing.  The good thing is that I've been able to sleep a couple hours each day to try and catch up.

How sad is it that I want my "old" Sjogren's back?  I guess it means I've come a long way if that's my "old" instead of my pre-Sjogren's life.  So wish me luck getting out of my overwhelmed exhaustion (not really a flare, I guess) so I can somehow get my father's crazy, hard-to-communicate-with wife out of his house that happens to be 8 hours away from me.  Ugh.

Thanks for the vent, friends.  :)

I am sad to say I have been there. So, so sorry.

Take a lot of vitamins to cover the stress, and iron too.

Big hugs to you, I am sorry for the loss of your father.

I'm so sorry you lost your Dad. Mine died of lung cancer, but you know what? We did get time to say "goodbye," which is more than people get when their loved ones die suddenly.

Good luck with the wife. Isn't she entitled to stay there in their home, though?
