Title: Shannon Boxx, World Cup Soccer Player-Sjoren's
Post by: quilt4fun on April 12, 2012, 08:31:07 AM
Here's another athlete joining the  ranks---I just watched a video on Facebook about Shannon.   She has just recently made public her challenges with Sjogren's and Lupus.  She was diagnosed 10 years ago.  Wish I know how to get a link to this video :(    I found it on Sjogren's Foundation Facebook page.

How can they compete at all.  Really.  I knock the soccer ball around with my sun a bit and it wipes me out.  And the athletes are competing in the sun for hours on end.  I have a hard time fathoming it.  Are they not so severe or are am I just a pansy?

Maybe they take heavy duty pain meds and gobble up caffeine pills/drinks.

Those who continue on like that either have very mild cases or they have the money to get above and beyond what they need to do it. Just my thoughts.
