Title: Sjogren's Patient Conference
Post by: katita on March 19, 2012, 07:10:53 PM
Has anyone ever attended one of the Sjogren's Patient Conferences?  There is one in San Diego in April and I was wondering if it is worth the time and money.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here's a link to an older post about a Patient Conference: https://sjogrensworld.org/index.php?topic=13568.msg141825#msg141825

(If you type in Patient Conference in the search box to the top right of this page, it will take you to previous threads about that subject.  There's 3 pages worth listed there.)

I have been to many of them and HIGHLY recommend going!  I have come away from each conference learning valuable info.  I also find it incredibly helpful and supportive being able to talk and share with others who truly understand what it is like living with this autoimmune disease.  I really hope you are able to go.  It is worth every penny.

I went to one a few years ago, and it was fantastic. I highly recommend them.

I believe it is through the Sjorgen's Syndrome Foundation website and if you join their membership (around $30.00/year) I'm told you can download the speakers from their conferences.  This might be a more economical option for those who do not live near the conferences.  Of course you wouldn't be able to mingle with those attending, but at least you'd hear the speakers.  Just a thought.
