Title: mucinex & evoxac?
Post by: engy on March 19, 2012, 06:28:31 PM
Can mucinex and evoxac be taken together? I couldn't find warnings & alreadY took evoxac for the night. I desperately need mucinex now too, nasty cold virus & getting checked  by doctor tomorrow afternoon because I'm having trouble getting deep breath.

Thanks, Carie

my PCP told me it was OK to take together.  I am taking it now and the Mucinex is a life saver for me when I get the crud!

Hope you feel better.

What is mucinex?  Sorry, all of this is new to me.  I've started keeping a binder to create a resource for myself.  Thanks :)

Mucinex is one of the brand names of guaifenesin, and expectorant that works by liquifying and reducing the viscosity of secretions in the lung. It's very beneficial in moisturizing the lungs and throat for some people.

It's available in liquid or gelcap form, usually, but beware of combination drugs like Mucinex D, or any cough remedies that end with D or DM, as they contain decongestants which are very drying.

I use this website to see if there are any interactions among all the stuff I take:

I even plug in my vitamins and supplements!
