Title: Night Sweats -Beat Me Up
Post by: Pisces24 on March 17, 2012, 12:05:44 PM
Either I am having a flare or my thermostat went wacky.

For awhile I was just plain chilly. We would have 72 degree days and I'd still be cold. I work close to a ceiling duct and I'd swear the company has the cooling air conditioner turned on already  >:( as I start freezing about 3pm or earlier. Very unusual for me too as I always wear short sleeves in the winter no problem. I am rarely rarely cold.

THEN for the past 2 weeks or so I have been getting night sweats. I usually just get em for a few days but these want to hang around. I don't mind the wet PJs or even the wet hair so much but I hate the feeling when you wake up like you were beat up!  :o :(  It is just kinda of a mildly sore all over feeling that takes a long while to go away during the day. I can't really explain it any better than that.

Any of you going through this presently or have in the past that seems to last a long time? I assume I just have to wait it out. Thanks!

Sounds like a flare to me...I get the same routine when my A-I stuff is flaring up. It might be worth calling your Rheumy to see if s/he wants to do some bloodwork or can suggest an adjustment to meds.

Sorry you're feeling crummy... :(

Hi Pisces 24, I have had nightsweats forever  >:(.  Mds have said it was from CFS, thyroid (all tests have been negative many, many times), menopause, lymphoma (not so far)  :) , or the most frequent dx--I don,t know  :'(  ::)  ??? So I know none of this helps  :( :( :(.  And I do so relate to the wet pjs, I always have 2 extra pairs at the foot of the bed----just in case.  But I do have a question; have you had your thyroid studies checked recently?  I apoligize for not being helpful, but I do empathize with you  :-* . So sorry you have to add this new burden to the already heavy bundle.  Oh yeah, regarding your temperature changes around 3pm;  It is a fact if you are going to spike a fever it will happen around that time as the sun starts to set. After all, we are children of the universe.  I usually get a low grade fever around that time. (98* my normal temp is around 96.5*)   I wish you a dry night sleep  :).       Be good to yourself,    Ceceraven

Thyroid levels are all good. Tested about a month ago.

Hate the Wide Temperature Feeling Swings!

I went through about 3 weeks of terrible night sweats that just stopped(hopefully) last week.  I woke up with wet pajamas, wet sheets, comforter and pillows several times a night.  I mentioned to my Rheumotologist and he just asked if I had any new or unusual rashes.  When I said no, he never mentioned it again.  I know I had to be going through some major flare, as I could barely drag myself to work and back everyday.  It seems like that flare is over for the time bring, but I am getting those afternoon fevers mentioned in other post.  I really don't know where I m going with all this, as my mind has taken a side trip, but guess I can say I have experienced this too and do not really have any explanation for it all.  Hope you feel better soon.

I think with SJS there are a lot of things that we experience that the doctors can not explain why it is happened to us.  With me things come and go.  Sometimes there is no logical explanation. or reason for.

I suffered with night sweats for months before my sjogrens diagnosis.  After treatment began with Plaquenil...they just stopped. No more soaked pjs.
Nice..............

Babesia can cause night sweats, as can candida/yeast.
