I haven't been on for awhile.
We were flooded on the 29th of Feb. We have a
creek that runs behind our home that came up
within a couple of minutes to overflow its banks
into our basement dumping about 17 inches of mud,
muck and debree. What a night we had.
I was so upset, my son really took over for us
getting most of the totes to the upper floors. He called
in his work friends and they brought pumps and began
pumping some of the water out. The fellows lifted out what they
could get out. We lost our furnace, hot water tank, washer and
dryer and many more things.
But you know they were only things!! My heart goes
out to the people who lost their lives and everything
they had. The tornadoes of that day were so devistating.
Our county was hit really hard but thank God no one
lost their lives. We were declared a disaster area. Many homes were
Completely lost. We were lucky that we still have our home.
I pray to God for the people who were effected by these
terrible storms.
God bless
Harlin
I am so sorry you have had this happen.
I can not even begin to think what a nightmare it has been for you. Thank God your son was there to help. Even when small thing happen they seem so overwhelming for us. I hope you have been able to take care of yourself and rest some.
Prayers are with you and your family!
Oh, (((Harlin)))...many prayers going your way during this very stressful time for you.
Harlin - that's terrible.
I'm glad you are safe and sound but being flooded must be just awful - and its not as though you need the extra stress!
I hope you get things cleaned up and the insurance replaces what you have lost.
Take care - Scottie :)
((Harlin))
I am so sorry that you have to go through this. However, I will say you have a great attitude about it! I am sending positive and calming thoughts your way. Make sure to take time out to care for you!

Harlin - I'm so sorry your basement got flooded.
We had water in our basement from heavy rain in 2008. It was just pouring in from the basement windows - we put a large tote in front of the window "trying" to catch as much water as we could. What a mess, but nothing like what you've had.
I'm sure you are very thankful for your son and his co-workers help.
Hopefully, your insurance claim is handled quickly and things are restored.
What a stressful time for you and your family. We're thankful that you all are OK from the storms that rolled through.

OMG, Our basement got flooded once when the water main broke in the street and drained the water tower. What a mess to clean up. Mud would make it so much worse.
Harlin,
What a week you've had! I've never been in a flood but can only imagine the mess with the mud and water it's caused.
How wonderful your son and his co-workers came to help you out. I hope the remaining mess is taken care of without too much stress or trouble.
Like you, I feel blessed that the tornados didn't hit us directly, however just 20 miles north a town was totally destroyed by an EF-3. So much destruction in our dear Kentucky.
Sending you many positive thoughts and prayers during this time.
Take care of yourself. ;)

Harlan, I am so sorry to hear that you had to endure such a mess. I have always said that a tornado is the pits and really awful but to have flooding is so much worse.
I hope that you don't get too worn out over this whole thing. I also hope and pray that the weather settles down now and that we have a good safe year. Please take care of yourself and family. Irish ;D
I am so so sorry to hear this. There were so many storms. I didn't know what we were going to have, but we got through it ok.
I am glad your son and those with him was there to help. I said a prayer for you through this stressful time.
So glad you and your family are ok.
