Title: Appetite
Post by: oescharao on March 05, 2012, 05:38:54 PM
I'm not sure if this has been asked before... Does plaquenil affect anyone elses appetites?
I go through times where I can skip entire meals and not feel hungry at all. Other times I'm absolutely ravenous (like I am currently). Now this could just be me, but I was just wondering if the lack of appetite could be partially due to the medicine.

My daughter (who does not have autoimmune diseases) has the same famished-to-not that seems to follow her monthly cycle.  I wonder if this is what's happening with you.

I haven't noticed anything like that for myself since starting the Plaq.

We're all so very different, though! Maybe you could start a diary of sorts to see how your eating habits affect your health.

When I first started Plaquenil back in June last year, I lost my appitite. I lost 15 pounds in three months. And was able to keep it off till February. Now Im starving all the time. But the doctor added some medication to my daily dose and I thought maybe it was the new medication. Not sure if that answers your question sinse I dont know for sure it is the plaquenil affecting my appitite. But I feel it did.
