A few of us are in Tn. I am in East Tn , and we are suppose to get the worst part today. I am praying. Everyone else in the target areas please be safe.

Stay safe and keep us informed.
I will pray for your safety.

Praying everyone in the storms path stays safe, ;)
I'm in west TN.. It's 72 here and partly sunny but it is so windy it's blowing small limbs from trees.. But it looks like the storms might miss us..
I'll be praying for everyone in the storms path.. Stay safe..
To those in the direct path of today's storms . . . be prepared. Make sure you have your medicines and such somewhere where you can grab them if you need to seek shelter.
Keep a watch on the weather. They say this is going to be a slow moving storm which means once it's in the area, it is not going to move on quickly - so be prepared. Have flashlights, lanterns, radio, etc. ready. Charge up your cell phones ahead of time.
Draw some water up too - just in case.
Be safe and take shelter should the need arise.
Bucky
I will definitely be praying hard for you today. I know first hand how bad storms can be. Our house was destroyed in the May 3, 1999 tornado. Watch the weather closely and have a plan where you need to go to stay safe.
I am in scott county tn and the tornado warning is over us right now.
susanep
we are ok so far.
susanep
This first threat has passed us now.

I am so glad you are ok! I've been checking back often to see if you had posted or not. Many P's and PT's (prayers and positive thoughts) until the storm is gone for good!
Thank you everyone, we are breathing a sigh of relief now. It's still stormy out, but not the danger at this time as it was before. I continue to pray for others in its path.

Susanep - keep a watch on the weather throughout the afternoon and evening tonight as more storms are coming your way.
Your weather is quite warm for this time of year - which is helping to spawn these storms as it collides with the colder Northern air.
I'm in Central Illinois and we've had rain and some snow flakes today - it's this evening when the big weather system is suppose to come our way (although, it may stay South of me).
Thinking of you all and praying for your safety.
Bucky
Thanks all. MissyLouWho thanks for checking in. That means a lot to me. Bucky you are correct, I can already hear more thunder now, and the wind has picked back up. Nashville right now is having a hard time.
The weather is now saying It's in Fentress county coming toward Scott county (severe thunderstorm warning) We live in Scott county.
I keep going from the boards to doing something in the house just to keep my mind and stress busy. lol...
susanep
May you, your family, friends and property be safe and secure.
Thank you Joe, and we are safe, it's cooler now so it seems to be over I hope. I did end up trying out some of those tones. It was calming.

I just called my cousin who lives in extreme Southern TN. They are ok - got hail and rain but no flooding. Minersville, AL - kinda a suburb of Huntsville got hit pretty hard. She has a granddaughter bussed to school there. They took em out of school to the Nat'l Guard Armory underground. She said the school sustained heavy damage.
Cousin said Alabama got hit pretty hard and she wasn't sure if they were letting people come in the areas or not as they were not yesterday.
Glad all are ok!!!
Do we know if all "our folks" got through OK? It certainly has been strange weather this winter.
Genko
I've just been catching up on the news and hoping that you are all safe and families and friends too. What a terrible time it must have been. Thinking of you and hoping to hear all is well xx Ailsa
susanep,
I'm glad to hear you're ok! This round of tornados through TN and Ky have been really awful Wed. and Friday, Mar. 2 was even worse.
I was pretty anxious myself, being in midst of this in SE Kentucky. Laurel Co. Ky is the county next to ours and where one hit and there were several lives lost yesterday. I pray for all their families and all the others affected by this.
We had one tornado on the ground just to the south of us that fizzled out near the Tn border, so I was "hunkered down" and ready.
Listening to all the reports of so much damage today; I'm feeling thankful we were missed and sad that so many lives were affected in many states around the country.
Blessings to all, ;)
Melinda
This weather is almost beyond belief. I told my hubby tonight that to be hit by a tornado and come out of the ruins alive and see a little damage here and there is one thing. But, to come out of the ruins and see ruins as far as the eye can see would leave you with the most discouraged desolate feeling in the world.
I look at the mess and wonder where they will start. Where will they pile it all?? How stringent are the rules and regulations about disposal of this stuff. If they have to sort it out down to each board it could drive you to despair.
Sorry, just venting. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with all of these folks. The year isn't over and it could very well be me. irish
Our weather has turned colder again, so yesterday we had some snow flurries. I will take the snow over those storms.
I am so sorry for the lives lost, and pray for their families. It is so sad.
My nephew and his family with 4 little girls got caught in a lock down in our local walmart the other day when we had the storms. I was glad the store was taking precautions though. And yes, the year is just beginning.

Threw the couch cusions into the (1920's cast iron) bathtub in case DH and I needed to bunk there for the night on Friday. Happily, we were just fine, although others in our area didn't fare as well.
Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers.
A66ey,
You sound like me; I was ready to go to the tub, too. ;) However, we live in a mobile home for now and the tub wouldn't have done much service. There's a large grocery a block away; my plan in real emergency is to go to the walk-in cooler!
My husband had his usual "it'll be ok" attitude all day Friday until the reports came in from all around us. He works in the county north of us, just 15 miles, where East Berstadt Ky was leveled by a tornado. Many of his co-workers had family and friends who lived there.
His company held a fund-raising lunch yesterday for those affected. He took food and a donation. I think he has a much different attitude about these warnings now. Hopefully, the spring will be less destructive than we think but I believe I'll be able to get him to "take cover now" a lot more seriously!
