I have just arrived at work, I have no idea how I am going to function today.
My husband has been looking for work since december, he went for a job interview yesterday that was disheartening.
Last night he has dropped a bombshell on me that he wants to move back to Italy (I am in the uk) I am devastated. have slept not a wink.
He says he still loves me very much and wants to be married to me for the rest of his life.
I just don't feel that I want to live in Italy, we had talked about moving when we retire, but now he can't wait that long.
I love him so much, but know that at this current point in my life I would not be happy in Italy.
Please can you pray for me.
I certainly am. May he give you the comfort and wisdom you need.

I am saying a prayer for you.
Well can he get a job in Italy? Moving away from a problem doesn't solve it. Does he want to move to Italy for the RIGHT reasons?
I don't know what your husband did - but is he open to working temp jobs through an agency or on contract for a set time? I used to always work temp when I was in-between jobs.
Good Luck!
Saying prayers for you.

That is a tough situation for you both. Im sorry you are having to make such a choice. I can see your reason for being hesitant about going. But I can also see why he wants to go. Closer to family and less stressful life style. I pray you both come to a decision you both end up happy with.

I will be saying some prayers for you.
Also, is your hubby from Italy originally? Maybe wanting to go home closer to family in case things get really tough.
The problem is that right now the whole world is in chaos and I don't know where in the heck a person can go to be assured of getting employment. Men are supposed to be the breadwinners and they have a really hard time with the unemployment issues. We have experienced this in our family.
As another person said, sometimes doing a couple of part time jobs at lower salary is better than doing nothing at all. Are you from the UK originally??? Lots of talking and understanding needed in our families and in the world at this time. Good luck. Irish
What a sad situation this is for you...and very worrisome.
Beyond the emotional stress, what would living in Italy be like at this time? Think perhaps in these terms---if I really wanted to go and if I could tolerate the move itself---could I yet avoid flares and even life threatening situations there that might happen because I do have Sjogrens?
This is what I mean for example: Most of us with Sjogrens either do not sweat or do so poorly. Sweating is our body's main method of maintaining thermoregulation in a warm environment. We are subject to heat exhaustion and even heat stroke (possibly fatal) without adequate sweating abilities. Can you be assured of: uninterrupted supplies of your important medications (especially Salagen or Exovac); uninterrupted and substantial airconditioning; ability to leave Italy should the country decline into the financial and social chaos that is in Greece now?
Perhaps if your husband could understand that this could well be life threatening for you, he would be able to see his desire to move in a different light.
Many prayers going out for you and your situation.
Thank-you all for your support,
I am originally from the uk and my husband is italian. I am and have been for a while the partner who earns more. We have had more discussions and have discussed my health, we have also discussed other options like he work in Italy for the summer season and in uk for winter.
I am trying to not stress about this and deal with this situation day by day.
Who knows what life will bring, but I agree that the situation at the moment may not be the best time to move to Italy.
We have also been supporting my mother through recent surgery, my mother is a negative person who is not easy to get along with hubby has been cooking for her. I think it has been hard for him to be around someone who is so negative.
I am hoping that he gets some even part-time work to tide him over. He has been looking for temp work, but we have found that a lot of our temp agencies locally have recently went belly-up due to low employment rates locally
Thanks for your prayers.
I have prayed for both of you. It is a stressful time for both of you. I hope everything works out for you as a couple. Please take care.

That sounds like a real tough decision. Hopefully he will be reasonable, and will be willing to compromise, or at least have some more in depth talks with you about it. This affects both of your lives, so it should be something you both can come to an agreement with.
Best of luck and lots of prayers!
