I went with my hubby to California mostly because I have always wanted to see California but now I'm thinking it was not worth the pain...we traveled 21/2 days there stayed two nights on the last morning there I got out of the shower sat on the toilet to get dressed as always....went to stand up and I had the most painful breath taking (literally) pain in my lower back I could not make it up my hubby had to help me up and even then it was unbelievably painful...the whole ride home was horrible and now I have been home three days its better but not much...it hurts anytime I have to move that part of my body...walking is awful I am thinking maybe I should have went to the er but even now I am not wanting to get anywhere near a car....just wish it would go away.....
Two and one-half days on the road is a long trip. Then to only stay two nights is quite a quick stop. I know when we go to Fla from Mich, we drive two 12 hour days and then arrive that evening. I took plenty of pain meds when I was hurting. Most of the time, I would recline the seat back and snooze when I could.
The only thing you can do now is take it easy if you can. This will wear off but it's likely to take awhile. It takes me a week or two to recover from a trip of that distance. There is suitcases, clothes to unpack and plenty of work to do, even if my hubby does most of it, I am whipped. Hope you feel better soon. I'd love to go to Calif one day, but not driving. Lucy
