Title: Fingers and Toes are beginning to look deformed....
Post by: artsyamerican on February 27, 2012, 04:59:44 PM
:-\ In the last couple of weeks I have just begun to notice my toes and fingers looking different.  My big toes are starting to curve in toward the other toes - and my other toes are starting to bend down.   My finger tips are beginning to curve up and my joints are really puffy.  Now I was dx with seronegative inflammatory spondylarthropathy and my Rheumy says "the good news is there will be no deformity" BUT...I'm beginning to wonder...my feet are hideous! Could this just be some extension of Sjogrens??

I would recheck RA and OA markers. Boswellia may help with the pain. UC-II may help with the deformation.

Hi Amy,

I agree with Joe.  It sounds like RA to me.  You should get in to see your rheumy right away, before the damage is permanent.

Get checked again. I was told I do not have RA and my joints have knots. Ugly, painful ones. My fingers are crooked. I believe I do have RA. Im going to see a new doc and get another opinion. You should too.

I have RA and my fingers have thickened and the tips are curving in different directions and even my entire index fingers are trying to turn  on their sides. However, I do not experience much discomfort in them.

Thanks guys for your input.  I was kinda thinking the same thing.  However - even if I was to test positive for RA - there's nothing I can take anyway - Methotrexate caused me to be able to breathe - Sulfasalazine gave me horrendous explosive headaches - I can take the new meds because of testing positive for TB .....the only one I haven't tried is plaquenil--- coz Rheumy says it's too weak for me - so what the hay...I'm dependent on prednisone and celebrex for the really bad days and the ok - to moderate days - there's chocolate : )
