Yikes! Sounds terribly irritating and ow-ie!

I have bouts of super-dry skin in patches. But nothing like this!

When I was younger I used to be a runner. I always got weird itching under the skin of my thighs if I didn't wear something like compression tights. I never could figure that one out, either!

Seems like a nerve thing, if compression helped it out. I have gotten the Raging Itchies, too. A shower helps me. Maybe having all of your skin reacting to the water redirects the itch response. I take an antihistamine and an Advil to feel like I'm Doing Something About It. Then wait til it goes away.

I deal with itchy skin and hives all the time.  I've chased the source for a long time and it's a moving target!  Now I just take Zytrec 2x day (over the counter) and that keeps it under control.  My dermatologist said I have "chronic hives".  Just another charming little symptom to deal with I guess.  LOL

Painful "shocks" ?? I get that when I try to go to sleep at night if I have eaten sugar or carbs. It's candida in my case. My "shocks" are not painful though.
