Just wondering if it's possible my mouth won't get horribly worse. My eyes are my main problem but I do think my mouth's been getting drier.
Hi my eyes are much worse than my mouth. My mouth only seems dry the odd day or mainly at night but it doesn't bother me too much, but my eyes are now very dry.
I used to have only dry eyes and no dry mouth. As time has gone on and the disease has progressed (which doesn't necessarily happen to everyone), dry mouth has become an issue, but it's been a very manageable one for me. If I take between 2-3 doses of Evoxac a day, chew gum, and sip water, I barely notice it.
SJS is known for being slow moving, though it's different for everyone (mine seems to progress in fits and bursts), so really anything is possible.
My eyes are the worst. I don't have a dry mouth, but I have a dry tongue :P. I actually drool with a dry tongue, lol!
Like Dragonfly said, it really is different for everyone.
I have extremely dry eyes, but a lot of saliva. But, my tongue gets very dry feeling and often gets "lumpy"....I don't know how to describe it. My daughter says it Geographic Tongue. Sometimes I get like little sores on my tongue too. But no dry mouth.
I stopped producing tears last March of 2011, my mouth went dry in November 2011 that's when I finally got my dx!!!
my eyes are definitely more of an issues than my mouth. It feels more like a dry throat than under my tongue if that makes sense. I drink all the time to relieve my dry throat more than a dry mouth
My eyes have always been a lot drier than my mouth has. My mouth only gets dry when I talk too much or when I sleep with my mouth open. The Plaquenil has help both. But the mouth more.
My eyes have always felt drier than my mouth. But lately it feels like the dryness in my mouth is getting a bit worse. Plaquenil does seem to help both.
Mine is more an eye problem than a mouth problem too. So far, so good.
