Title: Dental Xrays and Dry mouth.
Post by: Joe S. on January 18, 2012, 02:37:33 PM
I had read and article by Susan Summers about how her radiation therapy killed additional cells. She used stem cell therapy to recover.

I was in the dentist chair today getting an Xray of the tooth that I broke yesterday. I noticed that our glands could be over exposed to radiation. Who thinks this may be part of the cause of our dry mouth?

I hadn't thought about this, but I do know that most of us have had lots of dental X-rays!

I remember Sjogrens became a "formal" diagnosis in the 30s---don't know how much regular prophylaxis was done at that time----& still folks had dry mouth.

Good food for thought, Joe!

I remember when I first started having dry mouth if it was related to some dental work I had had done...  You got me thinking and wondering now.

I have had tons of dental work done and my mouth and face hasn't been the same since.

Also, I have read a lot about the fillings in our teeth not being a good thing either.

I have had a ton of dental x-rays in the last 60 years plus a ton of cat scans and Mri's the last few years. I have not noticed that I am anymore dry than I was many years ago. I just can't say that I ever worried about that.

I do swear that I glow in the dark from all the rays I have been exposed to. I got to be 69 years old so I guess it is too late to do anything about the past. Irish ;D

Joe:  I have to say that I'm not sure I'd listen or read Suzanne Sommers writings.  I'm sure some have merit, but for me she is a flake.  I had b. cancer about the time she did and no way would I have listened to her and followed her plan.  I'm just sayin'...so if anyone loves Suzanne Sommers, be nice.  I like her too and wish I looked like her as we are close in age.   But, no way.
