TODAY is the first day of the rest of your life. Forget yesterday . . . it's gone and you can't get it back. Forget tomorrow . . . it is yet to come. There is no guarantee we will even have a tomorrow. Focus on TODAY and try to live it in a way that you won't regret tomorrow. That's what I plan to do.

Jorja
AMEN, AMEN!!!
Particularly in the times in which we are living in now. So fast paced. Things are happening so, so rapidly. Sometimes we get caught up in the chaos by trying to keep up with everything.
Think about getting caught up in the holiday "rush". This party, that party, black Friday sales, internet Monday sales or whatever they call it. Some people miss the joy of the holidays because they are so busy.
I think that it's supposed to be a peaceful time of the year to celebrate birth of our Lord and Savior.
Over recent years, I have cut way back on the things that I do. I feel much better.
So yes, we should live for today. We should live one day at a time - one moment at a time. You may be surprised at the things you have been missing. Appreciate the sunrises and sunsets. Take note of how the the animals and other aspects of nature are. Most of all, learn to enjoy you. You may learn some things about yourself.
Duchess
I totally agree, Duchess. You expressed it beautifully.
Before SJS, I couldn't imagine staying in the house for days on end. Now, I've learned ways to pass the time. Like you, I enjoy sitting by the picture windows and watching the animals and birds. My favorite are the hummingbirds; but, I also enjoy watching the deer and occasional fox. We are blessed to live in the country where you can see God's amazing creations everywhere you look. All kinds of tall trees surround us and we have a different beauty each season.
There is a house we passed on the way to Church every week that is picture perfect. It faces a beautiful pond. My dream has always been to have a pond but we couldn't afford a place with one. I've always been thankful for our home but would comment that the only thing I desired was to have a pond of our own and maybe God would put me in charge of a fish pond once I got to Heaven. Well, I met the owners of that beautiful home facing the pond a few weeks ago. They are wonderful people but there is one little thing going on inside that home. The husband is fighting for his life against cancer. I was smacked right in the face at my silly comments regarding that pond. Here I am with a healthy husband who loves me and cares for me and the wife in that beautiful home facing the pond is watching her beloved husband suffer and get weaker each day. I'm sure she would trade with me any day of the week.

today........this moment, is all we have.
Yes, TODAY is all we have, and it's wonderful and full of adventure if we look for it.
If you knew you could be completely successful in any one thing that you could do, what would it be and why?
;)
Sylvia,
If I could be completely successful in one thing . . .
To live my life in such a way that others could see Jesus in me.
Blessings,
Jorja
I try to live one day at a time with God's blessings and help. I have been down a hard road as everyone has and only by the grace of God did I survive.
Love and prayers to all, harlin
