Title: Burning muscles in leg
Post by: KatieB on January 02, 2012, 06:20:10 PM
Hi, in the last couple of days, I have started to feel like I have a yeast infection, too many holiday sweets, I guess! Anyway today, on top of that, my entire leg is painful and burning also. I'm limping around and any place my pants rub, like when I'm walking, feels like it's on fire. It burns on the inside, like in the muscle, but the skin is painful to the touch too.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I feel like I'm flaring a little, and I'm used to pain and tingling, but this is new.
  Thanks.

Sounds like neuropathy.  There are many causes of neuropathy...from antibiotics, chemo drugs, diabetes, and even just from Sjogren's.   You should follow-up with a neurologist.  He may order a skin biopsy to confirm or rule out small fiber neuropathy.  There are a wide range of meds that can help with the pain/burning.

Sounds like neuropathy to me, too.  I take Lyrica and it helps mine some.  Lucy

is any area visibly red? swollen? you might also have DVT ( deep vein thrombosis) a blood clot lodged in the vein in the thigh. Not something to play around with!
