Title: Sick
Post by: engy on December 18, 2011, 04:17:07 AM
Hi all, I've been doing fairly well going back to work. I'm still exhausted but get through the day & enjoy my job so it has been worth it.

However, I am now sick. Started with a headache. Now sinus issues and in my chest. I'm miserable.

I get sick in some way every Christmas and was when all of my autoimmune first reared it's ugly head. For the passed 2 years I was not able to return to work afterthe holidays.

I know that this is a nasty virus that I have and most likely will last a week or two (according to others that have had it) so actually I will probably be sick longer.

I'm going to call my doctor on Monday but knowing me I'll drag myself to work because the fever part is over & we are making parent gifts then.

I am taking (for this awful cold): mucinex and an all natural antihistimine. I've also used my inhaler to help clear my lungs.

Does anyone have other suggestions? I cannot take anything like sudafed due to my POTS so many cold medicines are not ok for me.

Thanks, sniffling, sneezing engy headed back to bed.

You could try the tones on this link: http://www.chakraforce.com/Tonations.html#295.
and the tones on this link: http://www.chakraforce.com/LEDlist.html#Sinus
The 10K tone will help you feel better in general. I have seen many people get "drunk" on endorphins with this tone. You can do the same thing with Carrot Juice.

I hope that you feel better soon (((engy)))

I know how it feels to be doing better, thinking it will last, then it knocks you back a few steps. I refuse to believe it is knocking me down.

I don't know if you are able to tolerate herbal and/or homeopathic preparations? I really like Umka Cold Care. All natural, no side effects and no interactions. I also use a lot of steam therapy - humidifier, hot bath/shower, and facial steamer. My facial steamer really helps the most with throat and lung congestion.

REST, REST, REST.

Hugs,

KellyG

Thanks Joe, I will do the tones.

KellyG, That's funny that you mentioned Umcka because I found some my husband bought in the cupboard just now! Cold & Flu one, I will try it! Thank you! I didn't know hubby bought it & he's at church with daughter but when I read your post I thought, I swear I've seen that stuff before! LOL

Off to drink some beef bone broth & sit by the fire. can't lay down or I can't breathe!

Thanks confused, I'm off to do my neti pot (with sterilized water!)

It's not my allergies & it's a fake tree but thanks for the ideas. Hubby getting it now too, unfortunately we are a sharing family.

The old treatment-chicken noodle soup--helps but who knows how much. However, it does taste good and is soothing. Irish ;D

Carie, how awful! I hate getting a cold, it's just miserable.

I used to always get a terrible colds/laryngitis/sinus infection both before and after Christmas. Then I was tested for allergies (on my long and winding road to SJS diagnosis!) and was found to be allergic to house dust.

So I thought --- I put the (fake) tree up AND take it down, including stringing lights on all the branches. These colds hit me about three to five days after the workday.

That tree sits in my house for more than a month at a time and is kind of ancient. Have I ever dusted the thing off?

Now my husband brings the tree down from the upstairs closet and takes it outdoors where he blows it off with an air compressor to get all the dust off it before I set to work. You would be shocked to see how yukky!

Voila! Cured!   :D

Well, mostly.   ;)
