Someone on another thread posted that her humidifier started leaking. I had one do that to me one time and it was on my living room carpet. I caught it before it soaked through too much.
This did get me thinking that leaking could happen anyway, anytime and anyhow.
I solved the problem by buying one of those big clear plastic storage containers that are rectangular in shape and about 8 inches high on the sides. I bought one that was large enough that no matter what size humidifier I had the container would still be big enough.
This has been just the best thing for me. I have to clean it out periodically as it will get water marks and dust in it and in the summer there may be an occasional dead bug. It helps get rid of the worry of leakage forever. Just thought this might be some useful information. Irish ;D
I set mine on a large cookie pan with a towel underneath:-)
Excellent idea, thanks!
I never thought of any of this. I always complained about how the humidity ruins my tables and nightstands. Thanks for the advice. Im definatly gonna start doing that.

I agree, a good idea.
susanep :)
I use a rubbermaid boot tray under my humidifier, it seems to do the job of containing leaks just fine.
