Title: Hate cold places!
Post by: LisaMarie on December 13, 2011, 04:16:06 PM
So, our boy had a dentist appointment this evening.  I sat in the waiting room with my coat zipped up completely and my hood on!  It was absolutely freezing in there.  Others even commented on it as well so I know it wasn't just me.  Every bone in my body ached before we could leave.  I almost walked out to the car and sat.

Today at work it wasn't much better.  I sat with my blanket on my shoulders and froze.  I really feel it in my wrists, arms, shoulders.  I ended up sneaking away and finishing my day working from home.

I've always disliked the cold but this year it really bothers me.  Can't I just sleep the winter away?

I think that public places should be required to be at least 68 degrees.

Me too.  Ive googled human hibernation but I've developed this habit of eating on a regular basis and needing my health insurance.   ;D

I know what you mean! I have found that I am uncomfortable indoor at less than 72 degrees. I keep a heating pad in my office. I put it on my back, neck, or just sit on the thing and let the heat radiate! I have been so achy since it got cold....

Take care,

This fall was strange for me. I am out in 30-40 degree weather with out a jacket because I am too warm. Heaven forbid it drops below 68 degrees inside. I prefer 72 degrees in the house or I freeze. Okay so my thermometer is screwed up.

Don't forget to wear your Polar Fleece Mumps Scarf to bed.

Cold temperatures are the worst. My solution is to use any discretionary vacation dollars (and yes I am lucky to have some) to escape winter when I can by heading to warm climates.

When stuck in the North East I hibernate as much as possible in winter, under blankets and wearing gloves indoors, reading and catching up on movies, etc.

Me too :(  It has been really cold her this past couple of days, and my son has just driven home on sheet ice. I hate the winter, I'm dressed up in so many layers, I look huge.

I wish I was a squirrel, I have only about 3 months of the year now when I am warmer, Even my dry eyes cannot stand the cold air in a room,  it's crazy, and drives me crazy.  Even with as many woollies on, I am never warm unless the place is warm.
On the other hand I cannot stand air conditioning in shops, cafe's, shopping malls , public transport, I could go on and on .
I am becoming a recluse,  and try explaining to others what you feel  like is a no no , they think your barking mad.
                                 grrrrrrrrrrr, Dolly x

Lisa Marie, you need to explain to your employer that you MUST have your workspace warm. This is a matter of a reasonable accommodation, and it is necessary for you to continue to work effectively.

Incidentally, print out this report and take it to them:

The warmer it is, the more productive employees are (up to a point, obviously).
