I had a visit with my new rheumy, wow what an exam! I wasnt happy about the long visit 3 1/2 hours, but the Doc listened to me!!!!
She looked at my reports and labs from previous docs. She actually examined me (my last Rheumy never did). This is what we have uncovered........
eventhough I am SSA and SSB pos, since I have no symptoms of dryness she doesnt think I have full blown SJS. She also thinks that I have lupus more than anyone else has previously thought. She doesnt like the swelling in my joints (mainly my hands and feet). She wants to treat me aggressivley!!!!
I am back on Plaq. 200mg a day. no prednisone due to my gestational diabeties, praying for a mild flare up after I give birth and then more aggresive treatment (not sure what that means but we will see).
the funny thing is ever since I went to her my joints hurt so bad....she poked me a lot :) I am so happy to find someone that has a decisive plan of attack!
Congrats Hootyhu! That is such good news for you!!!!
Yeah, got to love the poking and prodding, but I'm glad that this doctor is taking you seriously.
Take care of yourself -

Hi hooty,
That's great news! Isn't it wonderful to find a doctor who takes you seriously and has a plan of action? I'm so glad for you.
And congratulations on the second baby. Our daughter is due the beginning of May. I hope you're doing well with the pregnancy and that treatment will have you feeling better in the 2nd trimester.
Take care and keep us posted. ;)
Melinda
I'm glad you found a rheumy who is thorough and listens to you!
I have joint swelling and pain, but my rheumy doesn't suspect Lupus at all - I've been diagnosed with primary SjS. Funny how different rheumatologists all have different takes on these AI diseases!
Best of luck and congrats on your pregnancy :)
Thanks everyone! So far baby is growing good, my toddler is all over the place......makes me tired but that is ok.
Mshistory, my joint swelling is a bit of a mystery. I think that I do have SJS but it is not manifesting as any dryness issues. As far as Lupus goes I have 6 out of 11 (I think that is it) symptoms.....again it is something I have been questioning and this Rheumy seems to think this theory is correct.
Too bad I will only be here until the baby is born and then we will move again so I will have to find a new rheumy again.....grrrr.
