Title: December Birthdays / Anniversaries
Post by: Bucky on November 30, 2011, 03:52:59 PM
Hi fellow Soggies      :D

Tomorrow is a brand new month - December 2011.  Along with this new month comes some new birthdays and anniversaries.

We'd like to celebrate the occasion with you - so, if you want, tell us the date of your celebration.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to our members who celebrate the occasion in December.

I'm always glad to have a celebration that involves cake and/or presents!    ;D

Happy celebration to those of this month. I know it is a hard month for other celebrations with Christmas in the back corner.

NO birthdays this month??   ???

The month of December is a busy birthday month in our family - two nieces, MIL, son, sister and sister-in-law.

I have one grandson (out of nine grandkids!) whose birthday is December 23rd. He has NEVER had his own birthday party.

I think this year I'll give him a half-birthday party in June!   :D

A66ey,

Hope your grandson has a good birthday!  Yes, those with birthdays so close to Christmas get "short-changed" don't they?  My sister's is the 21st; she's always complained no one did anything special for her when she was growing up.    :(

Hi there Bucky :)

My birthday isn't in December, but my wedding anniversary is.   It was on December 1st, and this year marks 21 years of wedded bliss!

I was able to get out to a restaurant with my husband even, which is the first time  I've been able to manage that in a very very long time.  Had a bit of a bumpy ride for the next week afterwards but it was certainly worth it and I look forward to doing it all again next year, meaning eating things I shouldn't and staying out past my usual bedtime of 8:30PM LOL.

Wishing you and all my other friends a very Happy Holiday Season.

Daisy

Daisy - Happy belated Anniversary to you and your hubby.   :)

I'm glad you got to go out to celebrate the occasion. Sorry you suffered for it afterwards - but, it was for a good cause.   ;)

Thanks for the holiday wishes . . . the same to you and yours.  It is coming up soooo quickly.

Take care -
Bucky

Okay.  I'll add my birthday here as well.  I let it slip in an earlier post, so I'll make it official.  My birthday is December 23rd.  I've always loved the uplifting spirit that surrounds the approach of my special day...or is everyone just excited about Christmas?   ;)

On a different note, December 29 marks the one year anniversary of my Dad's passing.  It's going to be hard living with the next "firsts".  First Christmas and first Anniversary.  I sure miss him.  But I am thankful I had him in my life.

Carebear, my step-dad (who was the father I always wanted for the last 25 years) died just over a year ago after falling two stories from a ladder. That year of "firsts" is just awful, isn't it? I've found that I still get weepy and sad, but the times between each incident seem to be getting further and further apart.

Kahlil Gibran wrote, "When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart. For you shall see that in truth, you are weeping for that which has been your delight."

I like the thought of doing something in his memory -- using the money I would have spent to buy him a present for something close to his heart, such as making a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Makes me feel like I've gotten to do something nice for him again.

My thoughts are with you, my friend, as you approach your first birthday and first Christmas without him.

Love,
A66ey

Mine was on the 3rd Dec but I forgot to say.  Can i have a belated one?? Not been a great month as I had my 1st Rituximab infusion on 7th and 2nd one today.  I'm feeling wide awake from all the steroid but too dizzy and weak to move from bed , so rather sorry for myself at the moment.  Any volunteers to peel veg on Sunday??  9 for lunch... The family will all help but wish i didnt always have to be director provider and x chief co-ordinator!!

Ailsa -  Happy belated Birthday wishes to you!!

I'm sorry you aren't feeling very well at the moment.  I hope the Rituximab infusion helps you feel better once all the steroid effects wear off.

Are there any kids in the group coming on Sunday that could help you with the veggies?

Take care,
Bucky

My big sister's birthday is today!  She is 70, and acts like she's 40.  ;D 8) She is my sweetie!

harrigan,
Belated birthday wishes to you!  I'm sorry you're feeling so badly.  I know what you mean about being tired of the chief coordinator.  :P   Hope you get some help and start to feel better soon.

Soft hugs to ya,
Melinda
