Title: Additional effects of Restasis?
Post by: arina83 on November 23, 2011, 07:02:30 PM
Since I've run out of Restasis, I've also noticed that the other dryness symptoms I experience are worse (mainly dry mouth and constipation, despite not changing how I eat). Waiting to hear if my insurance will cover it or not...so I'm forced to go without.

Interesting! I never noticed it helping with dry mouth but I did definitely notice it helped with my dry nose (and eyes of course)

arina,

I've not actually seen Restasis help anything other than my eyes, but maybe it helped the sinuses without me being aware of it.

I hope you hear from the insurance company soon.  In the meantime, is there a way you might get a discount or samples through your prescribing doctor?  If cost is an issue, the makers of Restasis have a patient assistance program that can provide the med at no cost.

Please keep us posted.

I receive Restasis free through the company that manufactures it.  They have a Patient Assistance program that you can apply for! YEAH!  Good news!

Call Pfizer and ask for the Patient Assistance program. They will verify some information, send a form to your doctor to fill out, and within time, you will receive Restasis on a monthly basis for free!

So, it might be a good idea to contact Restasis and ask about patient assistance, while waiting to hear from my insurance?

Totally exhausted between thanksgiving and taking care of a very sick alpaca...can't think clearly now.

Yes, I would!  If you qualify, you can start getting it sooner than later.

If they need word from your insuarance company that they won't pay for it, then you at least will already have started the process.

Hopefully, you have a good Dr. and nurse who are willing to help you out by filling a few forms out for you.

good luck.
