As some of you know, we live in the Midwest with many Indian casinos around. We (me) enjoy going to these once a month or so as our "something to do." Money spent is very thrifty. My friends always "win" $50 in comp play and if I get 5-7.50, that's good. Well, I got a flyer on a new casino today.
It said I was eligible for a free room. These are moxy and I can't afford to even look at them. The lowest price if $179/night and on up. It also said I earned a free buffet. I am so cheap, I'll send my husband to the buffet ($28) and go buy a sandwich for me. Instead of waiting forever like I normally would, I got on the phone and called them. I have one free night at the hotel for hubby and myself and also one free buffet. Isn't this a kick? It's only an hour away and the weather shouldn't be bad yet for an overnight stay. I love that I "won" something. True, I had to give a credit card # but we don't trash rooms so I think we'll be fine.

You and hubby sure deserve a night away after your recent knee surgery and PT. Sounds like a really nice "break" for you both. Do you know when you might try to go?

Go for it Lucy, as it is one way to get out of the house. You know they expect you to "drop a bundle" and also spend a lot on the food while you are there. Hope you have a good time and hope the weather is good for you.
It is supposed to be 50 degrees in MN on Thursday. Time will tell, on the warmer side but looks like rain today and quite hazy. IRish ;D
Irish-I NEVER drop a bundle, that's why it's so cool that I am included in this! If they expect me to drop a bundle, I may join my hubby for a buffet as I'll give him the free one. Actually, he likes to watch tv in the room of the fancy hotel. I am sure I will not ever get a freebie like this again because of my miserly spending at the casinos. Woo hoo. They have a wonderful cafe that is actually very inexpensive for buying good food. Lucy
