I saw my primary the other day and she said that I had muscle spasms in my neck.....now I am having pain in my jaw and my teeth on my left side are killing me..............(teeth are fine my last dental was in Sept). It doesn't feel like a swollen parotid....just more like jaw pain..............anyone have this? My doctor did give me muscle relaxers for my neck spasms and I only take them when I go to bed since they make me extremely drowsy.

Hi Diane!
My teeth have been hurting me for YEARS!! Dentist can't find anything wrong. I guess I could include my jaw but my teeth are just beyond. Do the muscle relaxers work?
The muscle relaxers work for my neck spasms but nothing for the jaw/teeth pain!
This sounds as if TMJD could be a possibility-the pain can manifest itself in the jaw,TM joint, ear, teeth etc. Grinding and clenching could lead to this and its common as well with fibromyalgia. The mouthguards work for some but gentle jaw stretching exercises can help too and a physio can prescribe a programme. Do you also have problems opening your mouth wider? The normal range is to get 4 fingers inside your mouth!
Right now yes, I am having opening my mouth wider.....I tried the 4 finger thing and it is very sensitive in the jaw!
yes. My jaws hurt but I have TMJ.
Are you really tender and sore just below your ear lobe? If so, it could be your glands.
You may want to try a round of antibiotics. I use my tones for head, pneumonia, and tooth which kills bacteria.
Hi,
I too get the teeth-jaw pain that is bothersome. my neuro said it was from neuropathy, which makes since to me since so many nerves run through that area. Ibuprofen helps some and in time it passes.
